Ericanoob Neutral Newbie August 16, 2017 Share August 16, 2017 Hi everyone! I am really in love with this gorgeous car. Wanted to seek opinions of past/current Peugeot owners and going to be 3008 owners! I am driving a Nissan now, have not owned a French car and thus would appreciate your opinion. A. I have an ex colleague who had an aging 508 and it gave him alot of problems; mainly gearbox. That car was around 6 years old but had a few repeating issues. Did Peugeot improve on its quality yet in recent years? B. Is the servicing for a Peugeot more expensive than a Jap car? If so how much more? C. I have yet to visit autofrance but intend to do so this weekend. Are the prices negotiable? Will any kind soul share their buying offer? I am interested in the allure version but happy to take experience from active owners too. I am comparing the 3008 Vs qashqai. While I have good experience with nissan and pretty confident in their build, I am totally blown by the 3008 design and features that I am seriously considering it despite the common "feedback" of French cars. Hope everyone here can provide your valuable input. Many thanks!

So kudos to them! Honestly, based on looks alone, i would have stumped that downpayment without batting an eyelid. But thought you might as well read some posts of what I and others wrote so you can make your own judgment about the car. Ultimately, the 3008 didn't win award just on looks alone ... right? ;) Some of my takes and observations: http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2703653-2017-peugeot-3008-transforms-into-a-suv/?view=findpost&p=6118906 http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2703653-2017-peugeot-3008-transforms-into-a-suv/?view=findpost&p=6118183 All the very best!

Hi laojiao, Thanks for the input. I went through the entire thread and saw a few of your opinions. U are knowledgeable! I feel comforted to know at least 3008 is using GB from aisin. Hopefully the engine doesn't disappoint. On a side note, not sure if anyone here recently placed an order for 3008? Able to meet delivery before 2018? Hope everyone here can provide your valuable input. Many thanks! Hi Ericanoob, A. Each build and platform is different. Not exactly sure which gearbox the 2011 508 is using. The 3008 and current 508 and other Peugeot models uses the EAT6 Aisin torque converter gearbox. Its a proven gearbox from a proven manufacturer. B. Servicing of Peugeot and other conti care need not necessarily be more expensive then Jap cars. After warranty, parts can be obtained from stockist here at reasonable prices. I have driven several VWs and Volvos and have found parts from well known stockists. Others in this thread have spoken quite a lot about that. You can checkup their posts. C. Do test drive and have a good feel of the car. You will be blown even further away lol. Prices should have changed over the last 2 months. When most of us committed, the COE was 42K+. Now is 46K+. So prices should increase by at least the same amount. I have test driven the Qashqai 2.0 and almost all the SUVs out there with the exception of those I cannot afford. haha. There is no comparison. If you are prepared to buy the QQ, its also partly French with the Renault backed engine. So why not go full French. Happy car shopping! Don't think the engine will disappoint ... one of my concerns is actually A.F. ... Anyway, hv they offered 5yrs and a longer mileage warranty yet? If not, do take that into consideration in the car purchase - especially ... French cars ;) All the best ya!

Radiator, cooling coil, HP pump, etc. Each time AF replaced at no cost, they honored their 5yrs warranty. B. Normal servicing abt 500-600. 800-900 with parts change. No idea if this is reasonable? Anyway AF offers 3yrs free servicing. C. Allure is gorgeous. Puretech has good review. In love with pug again. PM you the old price.
