haha same here! wanted to start looking next year but suddenly the astra 1.4T caught my eye. never did test drive any other car.

dont seem to have confirmed news of the sedan?

was always a hatchback person....but most hatchbacks back then had depressing boot space lol

Yeah..wife wants a boot and i do agree with her..heh. honestly i dont know if they will bring in the sedan astra...coz theres the insignia. sighs..would be nice...a sedan.

insignia abit on the pricey side...and not as fast. diesel looks tasty though. but my aim is to get a shorter car than current ride; the insignia is way too much of an upgrade haha.

initially banged up my sedan quite a few times because backside too big and long lol. booty of this size needs at least 99 rear sensors

Aiyo just share la.. Here are all owners or future owners of Astra ma..

Forum is where we suppose to share gd deals n group buy isn't it!!

if only we did coordinate a group buy.... haha

sure can shave off quite alot even with everything thrown in

seems like there are 3 plants and 2 are out of Germany

Made in England from what I was told at the Vauxhall plant.

Sorry for the wrong info, 60k service is about $200 plus

Yes, i verified the servicing cost as well before booking. Very reasonable pricing for first 5 years printed in black and white(5th year onward unsure) Furthermore the current deal include 3 years free servicing (parts and labor included). However, I understand wear and tear parts like batt are not included and i hope the cost is not the exorbitant kind even thou I am mentally prepared that the maintenance/part replacement cost will be higher for all Conti cars.

SE claims that Astra sold here has always been HB so AD wants to continue this trend so no sedan coming in. That said, I do remember sedan Astra being sold here years back and personally I feel whilst they may not bring in the sedan now, market demands may make this viable later??

I actually saw an older red astra sedan on the road lol.

But I as wondering if Opel themselves have confirmed on the sedan.

Yeah Opel's website shows astra is made either in UK or iirc Poland. However sgcarmart shows built in Germany .

Aaur4man, I was looking at the diesel insignia too, interesting but agree, its pricey. In regards to the astra sedan, with the insignia about 15k more, I wonder if they will bring in the astra sedan, the insignia sales drop. Eg, the kia optima that's sold here is 2l petrol, but there are 1.6l petrol version and 2l or 2.2l diesel versions if im not mistaken but locally only 1 model. Well, like what Spring said, maybe bring in if there's demand.

If they ever bring int he astra sedan, i don't think it will make any difference to the insignia sedan as they serve different sector of the market just like the 3 series vs 5 series.

The brand new insignia is rumored to be release end of the year. If its anything like the new astra, we should see a stronger presence of OPEL than ever before. Lets not forget about Mokka which is scheduled to arrive on our shores as well.

(edited)

Since either auto Germany or Opel has committed to release 20 models over the next few years, I believe if the astra sedan is in the making, they should find their way to our shores pretty soon.
