Any issues with the suction failing and assembly dropping? Thinking of getting the same for my note5

Ben using it for 2 weeks. Suction so far no failing. The pix you seen is the new position that is lowered. Took me a while to remove the suction even though the suction lever has been released.

The assembly has not drop so far as Long as you tighten it. Oh yes it comes with an additional suction pad

Bro. Can you share a picture of how you run the USB charging cable?

My charging cable is very messy leh..it runs from the centre cigarette lighter -> across my steering wheel -> to the right side of windscreen.

I am considering fixing an additional cigarette lighter under my right side of windscreen but am not sure where to do it.

I am using the same style like your except that the cable is hidden inside the steering wheel.... I am not using the cigarette light but the usb cable extension via my Pioneer AVH-X2850BT so the cable runs from the floor up to steering wheel to the holder

Hi bro. Tks.

I might instal the HU next week. Even though I am using android currently, I probably will get them to run two usb cables in case I need it for iPhone next time.

Welcome but I just went thru the 2850 manual... It has only one USB port... I have yet to test it with my spare iPhone and lightning cable

I use this, brought from Amazon. It is iOttie brand. Very lasting and sticky. [thumbsup]

  • Super sticky gel pad sticks securely to most surfaces (including textured surfaces), yet is still easily removable
  • Super sticky gel pad can be restored to its mint condition by rinsing it with warm water and allowing it to air dry

Using iOttie from Amazon for about 10 months.

Dislodged from the dashboard once after parking under the sun during the hottest month. After cleaning up the suction pad with water, stick as good as new again. Pricy... but a good product.

There are so many and when I decided on one from Giant it did not last even one day. $13 gone. It broke at the base. It looked like attached photo.

Just need specific model that works..thanks!

In case anyone is wondering what happened was the membrane that attaches to the hard plastic base sheared off under the tension of the suction after installation...cheapo product.  I applied liberal amount of super glue and it seems to stay..If it fails I will go for the iOttie seems good reviews.

Yeah i attest to this brand iottie... but it does have the problem of dislodging from dashboard under hot sun and also leave an un-removable mark on my dashboard ...

Turbocharged

Wow! You guys can really spend like $40-$50 just for the holder? I go mustafa can easily find $8 ones with many variety.

Depending on different car, I usually put the holder in a position resting on the dashboard. So it can secure better, won't drop, won't jerk.

Perhaps the adhesive used is quite strong. Notice the darker tone on the dash when the suction pad was removed. I place it back to the same location so it covers up again. If you are relocating the phone holder, maybe can try some dashboard / vinyl cleaner over the entire dashboard.

Not only that, the suction cup also caused my dashboard to bloat up in the middle of the circle, i always aim and put it back on the same circle mark but my wife anyhow stick and make another mark... nowadays i only put it up when i need to use it...

Lolxxx even removing it from the windscreen also take some effort. The suction is damn solid.

Got this mount for S$40. Fits 6" phone like my Huawei mate 8. One handed operation

Saw iottie very often recently. Can it be mounted to dashboard instead of windscreen?
