I'm not sure if the Mavic air / pro would allow you to do this from your menu, but you can do this take off / landing trick with a Spark. 
It's really cool because you can now literally fly from anywhere you want, even when you are standing in the middle of a pool of water, if you wanted.

Here is one you want to avoid.

 

Few points to ponder

 

As you Zoom, your video's more prone to shakes and vibration.

Just like any camera, as you zoom, shake is more pronounced.

Hence you need a tripod for zoom lens.

But then you put a zoom on a drone flying in the air ???  Hmm.....

 

Secondly, if you have a good raw 4K quality video to edit in post, you can zoom in onto the subject of interest by cropping and you still get that 2X zoom equivalent on the Zoom's 2X optical lens.

So why cheapen the video with shakes on the zoom when you can crop on a super stable high quality Hasablad lens from the Mavic 2 Pro ?
