Roh96 6th Gear October 25, 2018 Share October 25, 2018 Reliability should not conduct first 3 yrs. Should conduct last 3 yrs.lol.... Below 120k km mileage should not be any problems for jap or Korean car, that why warranty until 100k km. After that will really can see how reliability it is. Yah i agree with u. First few years usually no problem for both Korean and Jap. Once reach beyond 6th yr or above certain mileage, u can tell which is more reliable. Of cos some will call these wear n tear. ↡ Advertisement
Sktan10 5th Gear October 25, 2018 Share October 25, 2018 At 4 years plus another more impt factor than brand is also user. Does he always go for cheapest workshop, delay changing things as long as possible, accept 2nd hand spares... This is rarely discussed. My dad stuck with AD workshops for all his cars - all 2nd hands and include Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota... and all worked fine to 10 years. I am currently driving a COE Vios but moving to Korean. As long as not a lemon I have faith I can maintain my car the way I did the Vios before. Others I am not sure. But my Korean car 140k km mileage and my colleague altis 200k km mileage. We both are into cheap engine oil package like those $38 to $58 package.Of cos this is after 3yrs warranty. And because is cheap, both of us never really follow the 10k rule. You can said both of us are cheapskate.lol... Of cos things spoil after changing should run fine if not why want to change in the first place? I m more into the parts that can last how long? Not by year and by mileage. My three power windows spoil during 9yrs of ownership. My colleague power windows still fine till now. How about your vios power windows?Did you change or repair till now?And what is your mileage?Any things that you change before?care to share?

This also translate into low or high maintenance cost. Edited October 25, 2018 by Sktan10

Dafansu Turbocharged October 26, 2018 Share October 26, 2018 if want reliability, hassle free just go straight for Toyota car. My COE 14 years old vios haven't break-down at all. Always high rev, don't off aircon when switching off engine. So far only change magnetic clutch at about $250, the rest are wear and tear items like drive shaft, struct mounting etc.

Dafansu Turbocharged October 26, 2018 Share October 26, 2018 (edited) Can I know the mileage? And what mileage you change your magnetic clutch? Is it the air con compressor clutch? Now is 230k, scrapping next month. Changed aircon magnetic clutch 210k. Trouble free ride. Easy to maintain since I like to DIY. My vios coming to 13 yrs and 200k km. Much like Dafansu but did change aircon coil and of cos usual wear and tear parts. It was involve in bumper to bumper abt a year ago so AD workshop might have change some other things inside that I dunno abt ð Biggest problems that I didnt bother to fix were dashboard light spoil and rear passenger righthandside door cannot open from inside... but with kids I consider this a feature ð My dash light also faulty, DIY my own EL light to see at night. Passenger window button faulty, can go down but need use driver control to activate up (didn't change the motor) , driver window also jam often due to the hardened window rubber (can put those rubber lubricant but lazy to do already) Aftermarket sunroof motor spoiled many years back. My Tein coilover literally last me 12years already, still in good condition. Other than that I think can go another 100k Edited October 26, 2018 by Dafansu

A car can be name PIcasso etc with fancy names but you think its reliable? Vios this name already outdated, they need to re-brand it.
