You will be surprise some people even the cabin is in total darkness, they can still continue to drive without switching on headlights.

It's happening more often as nowadays dashboard is already lighted up even if headlights are switched off. Last time still need to turn the knob at least once to switch on parking light.

120k.....had to because my engine overheated a few times in the past because of faulty fan relay and burst water pipe. They changed the main gasket, the valve seats and a few more items. Now my engine very clean liao.

After overhaul can pass the new stringent test? Whats the new requirement though? Goal post everytime keep shifting...

Anybody kind enough to point where to find the VES banding with individual emissions level for all cars.

Have they released the new details for vehicle inspection? Don't seem fair to be so last minute. I wonder what happen to those who renew COE then fail inspection...

If emissions its the upper part of the engine where combustion takes place followed by the exhaust and catalytic converters. Can always do top overhaul to replace the main gaskets and valve seats.

The moving parts (lower part of the engine) that drive the car will be the expensive one to rebuilt and if maintained properly can last more than 2 coe cycles. The wear and tear parts such as tbe suspensions, drive shaft etc are the next. These parts can be replaced slowly as there are no inspection at the 10th yr.....my next inspection is next march and so first to be replaced will by my suspensions......it still works fine now but getting rougher and my tyres doesnt show signs of uneven wear.

My Saab would alert me if one of my bulb would be blowing soon.

True enough, I waited and it blew 2 weeks later.

Such is driving a Saab.
