But based on an endocrinologist talk i attended last month, semaglutide (ozempic) is considered 3rd generation of this type of drugs. The original older drugs were already available since 2008 or so according to him. 2nd gen is around 2014. He considers Ozempic/Wegovy and Mounjaro the 3rd generation.
