Turbobrick Neutral Newbie July 11, 2003 Share July 11, 2003 Sicne we don't have winters in Sillypore, flushing once every 2 years is suffice. If you notice drop in coolant levels often that means there's not enough coolant and too much water in the system or worst case a leak somewhere. Recommended dilution ratio is 50/50 but I personally use 30/70 (coolant/water) for year round summer as water is the cooling component, coolant just raises the boiling temp. Holts radiator flush. drain out old coolant, poke in water hose, just force water into the radiator, clean inside.... fill up with water & this flush, drive for 30-40 miles. drain out and top up with coolant. coolant i bought from carrefour, brand is "Total". I'm using Redline Water Wetter, about 370ml per bottle and top up ratio to 30/70 same like Turbobrick. One more brand is Engine Ice which is premix but quite $$$. Turbobrick Neutral Newbie July 13, 2003 Share July 13, 2003 If you car has green coolant currently, you could top up with plain water like Saaber mentioned and monitor whether does the level drop. If all ok then leave it, else top up with 50/50 (since not complete flush) water and coolant mixture. For the standard green coolant, I recommend using CASTROL coolant which can be found at Autobacs or parts shop along Deskar Rd If you're flushing do change to Merc coolant, the BEST!
