My all time favourite and the best I've had is the Garbole Hatteso amarone riserva. Sadly, too expensive for weekly drinking.

Garbole Hatteso my favourite too and among the best of all Amarone I've tasted. Even their Rosso at 40% cheaper is very good.

if can invite a few MCFers like us to drink with you will be even nicer [:p][:p]

millesima has 33% discount now, it is in fact buying 2 case get one case for free . but must buy in whole case . if you find it too many bottles to absorb, can get a few friends to share around to order 3 case in one go. Those on discount under this program are mainly French wine.

Those who want to try Amarone, this is a value for money to buy. they are selling cheaper than DFS in airport of the same 2012 vintage. Dont try to the 199X vintage , they are very expensive partly due to the lower production and low qty left in the market now.

(edited)

Found a link from The Peak Magazine on Wine and CNY Food pairing.

My personal choice will be white wines with seafood as mainly CNY dinner will be seafood.

But suddenly found a bit tired of Sau Blanc.

Chardonnay, Chablis and Riesling likely be my varietal choices.

I like the Beaujolais recommendation for fish! I like that or a pinot noir for seafood, allowing me to stay on reds only.

Can also try Pinot Gris.

Yes of course

Pinot Gris or Pinot Grigo will be a good choice too.

Sau Blanc is nice but felt have too much of it and the nose too fruity.

If drink on its own as aperitif is ok, but to pair with food, I found it to overpower on the nose.

The lighter reds are great with seafood too.

Of course when one think of Pinot Noir will relate to Burgundy.

There's also USA Sonoma, NZ Central Otago and Northern Italy.

Maybe try All Pinot Noir, different styles from all different producing regions this CNY

Your blood must be redder than red.

On side note: Sir Angcheek, set a time for charity drive at your place. Ct3833 to bring the “blood” and I bring glasses. Roadrunner and Lala81 to bring cheese...maybe

Silician Nerello Mascalese is also great for seafood.

One left bank and one right bank Bordeaux, well chosen! Wow your guests will have an enjoyable experience with whichever suits them better! I just took delivery of my Garbole Heletto and Hatteso today - enough to last me through 2019  [:)]

Picpoul de Pinet is a very nice wine for seafood.

First tried it when on holiday in Bouzigues, which has the best oysters me and the missus have ever tasted.
