Anyone can advise? The hybrid Axio I rent, will just continue on petrol, when the hybrid battery died, but it keeps giving warnings. So if you ignore the "deadly serious" warning, you can continue to drive using the petrol engine. ↡ Advertisement

Anyone can advise? It depends on the car model. for BMW X5 plug in hybrid. Any anomaly it detected in battery it will shut off everything and prevent you from driving further. jkhybrid July 24 Share July 24 Yes, I’ve actually explored a few other hybrid workshops besides HEVShop. One of the notable ones is JK Repair Hybrid Batteries — they specialize in hybrid battery diagnostics, reconditioning, replacements, and even mobile services across the UK. 🔧 Battery Maintenance Costs (Typical Ranges): Hybrid battery fan cleaning: usually around £50–£90, depending on location and labor rates. It’s an important maintenance task, especially if the fan is clogged — overheating can reduce battery life. Battery reconditioning/recharge: ranges between £250–£600 depending on the car model and the warranty you opt for. Some places offer a 12–36 month warranty with unlimited mileage. Since your PI (Parallel Import) warranty is ending and they haven’t done a hybrid battery check yet, it’s actually a smart move to have it looked at by an independent specialist. Many dealers skip proper battery diagnostics unless there's a warning light. If you're near Birmingham or surrounding areas, JK Repair could be a good choice — they’re certified (City & Guilds Level 3) and offer full reports after diagnostics. Let me know if you want a list of checks or a comparison between shops — happy to help!

Heartlander Turbocharged July 26 Share July 26 i can recall many actually voiced concern about cost of replacing the hybrid battery when this hybrid car technology is new. But now many happily embrace EVs with a much much bigger battery without any after thoughts like this aspect no longer relevant. The world has changed so much already. ↡ Advertisement
