Jamesc Hypersonic November 28, 2020 Share November 28, 2020 A Citroen should have Ooh La La. Its hard to describe what is Ooh La La but you just know it when you see it. ↡ Advertisement 1
Fat_slayer 4th Gear November 28, 2020 Share November 28, 2020 True.... when I bought my C4GP and C5 subsequently more than a decade ago, both attracted me with the "ooh la la" feel whether interior or exterior wise. During my ownership for both, only water pump broke down for the C4GP. Rest of the time was trouble free. The service advisor could even remember my name when I went for servicing... :) This new DS9 does not have the unique quirky design of a French automobile exterior wise although I would say the interior cockpit and dashboard design looks very good. Following Citroen's traits, their cars are features packed. However, the Koreans are catching up as evident in the latest Genesis.... This segment has more choices now.
Jamesc Hypersonic November 28, 2020 Share November 28, 2020 I don't know what it is about this girl that cos me to have that Ooh La La feeling. I just cannot put my hand one it. Is it the hair or the smile or something else that is staring me in the face that I am just missing? Anyone has any idea?
Jamesc Hypersonic November 28, 2020 Share November 28, 2020 This car just has that art deco look. If you arrive in this at a reception I think you will get more looks than someone in a Rolls Royce. Ooh La La. Good to have when your Ferrari breaks down.

Thaiyotakamli Supersonic November 29, 2020 Share November 29, 2020 If ds7 cost ard 170k then this ds9 might cost close to 200?
Lchong 4th Gear December 5, 2020 Share December 5, 2020 I'm actually quite sold on this. Similar to G90, it faces an uphill battle.
Heartbreakid 6th Gear December 6, 2020 Share December 6, 2020 Speaking of Citroen, I felt the era of the C5, C4 where they had the fixed centre steering hub, those models really stand out inside out. Really had a strong French unique design. The moment I sat in one, I felt the "wow", I feel good and different that kind of feeling. In China the 508 Sedan is base on this DS9, and it looks better than DS9, and the interior actually feels more uniquely design (same as the usual 508) than this DS9. Carbon82 Moderator December 8, 2020 Author Share December 8, 2020 This DS9 has nothing, absolutely nothing special under its sleeve. Citroen and DS was known to be innovative in the past, and having unique features was not just limited to their flagship model. Case in point: 1979 Citroën GSA The GSA aka GS (between 1970 to 1979) was Citroën’s attempt to fill the massive hole in their lineup between the very basic 2CV and Ami and the wildly advanced DS lines. The GS/GSA was a clever, streamlined little fastback with an air-cooled flat-four driving the front wheels. It was Citroën’s biggest volume seller for years. Details such as its door handle and rim make it look much ahead of time, but that is not all. The real special stuff is with its remarkable dashboard, as it has became something of a template for extremely tech-inspired designs to come. The dash look just like something taken out directly from a scene of a sci-friction movie! The instrument cluster is dominated by that shockingly detailed line drawing of the GSA in profile, with callout lines going from different elements of the car to warning lights along the sides. The dash setup also included Citroën’s brilliant and mostly un-copied “lunule” or “satellite” control setup, where commonly used controls like lights, signals, and wipers were all housed on these funny pepper-mill drums on either side of the one-spoke steering wheel, allowing for access to almost everything without your hands leaving the wheel. It’s all pretty brilliant, and arguably much better than the screen-and-menu-based systems so popular today, at least from an accessibility standpoint. While it look nice and high tech, I am quite sure the owners will have a hard time figuring out the location of various switches and how to use them for the first few weeks they took delivery of this futuristic ride.

I had the experience of this instrument binnacle with the 1st Gen BX, and although its weird, it works very well once you got used to it. Everything can be reached without lifting your hands off the steering wheel.
