Finally, my first post here. Anyone did a windscreen tint on their XC60 or any Volvo car? Was told by agent that you cannot tint your windscreen as it will interefer with the signal. Based on my research online many people are doing it but they seems to be from overases. I can't imagine not doing a tint on the windscreen. Thus appreciate if you guys can share if you guys did it.

Also would be great if you can share

  • the brand,
  • the %
  • does your car come with HUD
  • where you guys did them.

I've looking at using Xpel with the lightest tint possible (70% XR plus). Thanks

what signal are we talking about? IU signal, phone signal or radio signal?

Can do one lah. I don't see any issue with this. Just do those LTA approved one.

Volvo windscreens should already have heat rejecting coating. No need to tint. More effective to install sun shades for rear windows and rear windscreen. Double up to shield your face from other people.....

@Volvobrick ok, thats news. Will find out more about their heat rejecting coating. But aren't that for those overseas to defrost their screen? Believe only those come with heated windscreens? Singapore got such thing?

Added: ChatGPT says to look for a marking/label at the bottom corner of the windscreen—terms like:

"Solar", "Infrared", "UV+", or "Laminated IR"

Interesting!

Supercharged

I think it’s IRR and TSER %…

former is infra red ray.. 97-99% rejection.

and TSER rejects total solar energy. Not hot until can cook in side the car cabin.

Many ws do solar tints

Oh...it's the interference with Intelisafe camera/radar...one way is to get the solar film installer to have a cut out portion around the camera/radar area...ugly though 😂

@mersaylee I see.. but I thought its common to do that? I mean cut around the camera/radar?

I hazard a guess that the installer rather not put up any film there just in case of any complications with the sensor...
