it is the opposite. The reduction already trigger the fear that more "kan chiong" buyers are rushing to buy  the EV now.

Come 2026, the sales guy will tell potential buyers the rebate will be reduced further in 2027. Another round of fear tactics again.

Trust me. If the EV sales does not hit their target, they will tweak the rebate again to lure more buyers.

tweak rebate? LTA/NEA will jitao up petrol and hybrid taxes. then hoot petrol tax... make you pay more... to force you to submit. then with higher petrol taxes... they will then say to equalize... the $700 additional tax on EV will become $1k...

BYD is really going all out for market share, every other model they also have (with the exception of pure ICE). This new Seal DM-i (plug-in hybrid) may win over some Altis / Mazda 3 / Civic buyer if the price and warranty/service package is right.

Wow BYD going for Toyota’s hybrid market share with this, $184k (non guaranteed) is super competitive, targeting those who may not be ready for full EV yet.

Compare this to an Altis or Vios I’m not sure who will still pick the Toyota.

The new Seal 6 DM-i is even longer than Seal and Sealion 7.

Also Seal 6 DM-i sedan has the same length as Touring 🤔

The Seal 6 Touring DM-i (wagon or estate version) is looking interesting. Dimensions are below from brochure.

Decent boot space and carrying capacity of 435kg is much better than the BEV version.

A shame about the short electric range of only 50km. This is due to the small 10.8kWhr battery capacity.

Interesting indeed. The touring has the same length as the seal 6 DM-i sedan. In my understand, usually touring is longer than sedan.
