Hi, To those who have use the drop in type K&N filter.

I would like to check after installing this filter, what is the results of the following :-

1. Fuel Consumption (improve or becomes worst?).

2. Performance (Increase in the low end torque, more power during cruising, etc).

Thanks for your valuable feedback.

Hi there, P,

And welcome to MCF. Hope you enjoy your stay here. [:)]

I recently switched to a K&N and in general, my consumption's been getting better, based on the figures I've been getting both on my read-out and calculation. as for the performance, the main thing is on 5th, the revs were 3000 but it's now about 2900 since the change. Engine also feels revvier in general, mid-range revving especially.

In general, no regrets dropping that in.

1. Fuel Consumption (improve or becomes worst?). My fuel consumption went up by a tad ... not sure whether its because due to the better air flow and thus more torque, I tend to hit the highways at 100 kph. 14.8 km/l compared to 14 km/l

2. Performance (Increase in the low end torque, more power during cruising, etc).

Engine feels merrier at 90 kph and above. Low end torque slighly better ... as I still keep in original filter , in case I washing the K&N filter. When exchanged for washing back to original, can feel original stock filter's restrictiveness.

K&N drop in filter is definitely one of the best buy around...cheap and effective...better fuel consumption and better drivibilty especially in the higher rpm range...

1. Fuel consumption: only slight increase.

2. Performance: thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif. Not so much of low end but got better mid range. 100kmph at ard 2600rpm drop from 2800.

K&N works. [nod] A few T4s wif K&N and stock filter hooked up a OBD scanner and the readings confirmed there was a noticible improvement in airflow rate on K&N-equipped ones vs stock. As a result, turbo spool up is quicker but not necessarily more powerful.

Hi guys,

I've not open up the filter box to see whats inside.

For the improvements after KNN drop-in installed,

I'd like to know what were the condition of the existing

normal filter (paper? very dirty?)

just curious.

Hi,

Any idea which shop stocked a good range of K&N. I am trying to get one for the Mazda RX8 as a birthday gift. Checked with Pin Liang at Owen Road, asked me drive the car there so that they can measure and try to offer a suitable match [shocked]

Thanks!

Thanks! I was trying to recall the shop's name. Remembering buying a K&N for SAAB 95 again as a gift last year. Unfortunately my friend couldn't remember the name as well [blush] That's the one in Macpherson right? Will give them a call tomorrow [;)]
