Oh those are MazdaSpeed bodykits. Forget about finding them here. The ones here are very likely not from MazdaSpeed. A kits like that can cost easily S$4K - without spraying and freight charges yet. If u want, I can give u the overseas contact.

I just dun think it would be ideal for the 323 to have the 6 grille. Would cost somewhere around S$150 I think but I'd rather spend that amount on the engine powerhouse than cosmetics [nod][thumbsup]

MM pple cannot answer that question lah [:p]

Most importance, your driving style. My friend driving a 2003 1.6A 323 get an avg of 12.5 to 13.2 km/l. He is a family man, nvr overtake cars [:|]. No mod too. I drove 160km/h in NS highway, fuel consumption is only 8.8km/l. [:/].

Do take note that mazda engine is not fantastic. I believe mazda 3 will improve alot.

[bigcry][bigcry][bigcry] I miss my the other 323(reg sep2000) which gave me 540 to 600km per 43Litre of petrol (current one 480 to 500km). Spent much less money on mods than the present one. It has more torgue and was much faster with little mods. [bigcry][bigcry][bigcry][bigcry][thumbsdown]

My driving habit have not changed, same right foot. I dont think my right foot put on weight? [nod][nod][nod]

I wonder where the older car is, maybe been exported? [bigcry][bigcry][bigcry]

The only consolation I get is cheaper and with full body kit. [blush][:p][:|][cool]

Somebody told me that the new facelift 323 Protege has a new ECU design and wiring harness? [confused][confused][confused]

Maybe MM ppl can help to clarify? [:p][mad][dizzy][dizzy]

Was told also, new ECU has more powerful CPU (same as those used in PC) [thumbsup] , and so the ECU self-learn very fast. [thumbsdown]

Maybe so that's why the add-on gadgets have no more effect after being installed for some time. [bigcry]

ECU design and wiring harness

True ... the engine is the same, just an upgrade in ECU. I think the problem lies in the new ECU's air-fuel ratio. Factory ECUs are set to maintain a 14.7:1 Fuel/Oxygen ratio, this is known as a stoichiometric fuel mix. This mix is a balance between power and fuel economy, which is what most automobile buyers are happy with. But the new ECU I think is at 19:1 Fuel/Oxygen ratio, which is why facelifted Protege 323's are suffering cause the ECU is making u burn fuel like u are running a 2 litre car.

new ECU has more powerful CPU (same as those used in PC), and so the ECU self-learn very fast.

Not true .. the new ECU is not more powerful .... the only powerful thing is its ability to influence the engine to burn fuel like a 2 litre car and supposedly give u more power, if u re-do your restrictive stock air intake system. The Mazda ECU has got almost NO Learning Ability bigcry.gifbigcry.gif

why the add-on gadgets have no more effect after being installed for some time.

See the line above in BOLD bigcry.gifbigcry.gif
