Hi Kramer,

I'm using sponge to wash my car, so far it didn't cause swirl marks, been doing so for the past few years..

IMHO do take note:

Use 2 sponge to wash your car ( 1 for body and 1 for rims ).

Use a hose (if you can) to wet the car, then use a sponge to shampoo the car, taking care to wash and rise the sponge after each shampoo. Also, use a top-to-bottom approach. As long as your sponge does not pick up sand/dirt, it will not leave swirl marks. I use the 3M Commercial Sponge, available at Carrefour for about $5 each, lasts a VERY VERY long time.

I don't face such problem when I washed my brother's car which happens to be dark colour too.

Nevertheless, one can always use cloth if they are uncomfortable with sponge..

As per Emiffy,

Just make sure you 'wet' the car first and use the top-to-bottom approach and you will be fine..
