Seansene 1st Gear August 15, 2003 Share August 15, 2003 Actually the real one will look more like this...
Hc1883 Neutral Newbie August 17, 2003 Author Share August 17, 2003 Hopefully, the 3-dr version will look much sportier than the 5-dr pic of the new Astra that you have attached.
Panda Neutral Newbie August 19, 2003 Share August 19, 2003 But the 5-door version Sean attached is quite nice too... Well it's like there are so many Ford Focus on the road, it is a really nice design and all, but time for some variants (copies ) and perhaps a new design from Ford. I like hatch-backs and station wagons... but there isn't really anything out there that looks really nice apart from Conti cars which are abit too costly for me... Seansene 1st Gear August 19, 2003 Share August 19, 2003 I know I'm a little biased to say this, but the current trend towards both a long wheelbase and high roofline in this class was started by the Focus in 1998 (A prophetic quote from CAR magazine when it was launched: "One day, all cars will be built like this"). I guess everyone caught on that this combination could liberate quite a substantial amount of interior space without compromising either dynamics or looks. Hence the post-Focus Rollas and Civics, which are quantifiably taller than their predecessors. In fact, put just about every new generation small car (including the Honda Jazz and Mitsu Colt) next to an old Accord and you'll see what I'm talking about. Ok, enough rambling. The new Astra will have 3 very tempting models in its hierarchy - 2.0 litre turbo fours producing 170hp, 200hp and even 240hp! Let's hope these get brought in, and at acceptable prices
Accenture Neutral Newbie August 19, 2003 Share August 19, 2003 Whoa if they bring those sure sell man...but problem is that the current Astra also have the GSi models but they neber bring in leh...so I doubt they will bring in ....
Vtim 3rd Gear August 19, 2003 Share August 19, 2003 Ok, enough rambling. The new Astra will have 3 very tempting models in its hierarchy - 2.0 litre turbo fours producing 170hp, 200hp and even 240hp! Let's hope these get brought in, and at acceptable prices with the same agent, fat hope
Seansene 1st Gear August 19, 2003 Share August 19, 2003 Aren't Opels supposed to be reasonably-priced?
Vtim 3rd Gear August 19, 2003 Share August 19, 2003 the basic model, yes those T/C, I don't think it's going to be reasonable

Jgoh Neutral Newbie September 1, 2003 Share September 1, 2003 Seriously worth a look if its chassis is as well sorted as the current model. The 'new' look is a vast improvement isn't it! Thought the current cabrio also looked decent if not a little too bland. Waiting to see how the cabrio on the new model turns out...
