How to smoke rear lights

How would you smoke(darken) your rear light cluster s;lightly , just get a painter to spray lightly on the inside??

read there is some spray from VHT called Darknite but not sure how the finsihed produc will look like.

all i want is to be slightly darker cos its a dark red car with red light cluster..

You can't spray the 156's tail-light cluster from the inside, or do a good job in doing so. Remove it and you'll see why! [sly][;)]

I think that's the logical way too. But I think the finish will be matt, unless another layer of clear-coat is sprayed over.

Matt finishing isn't a bad idea, actually. I understand Niteshade can be 'removed' if sprayed faintly. A clearcoat over it means it's gonna be permanent
