E68/AirMax can install??

Saw this 2 products from 1 of the local magazine, claim that able to compress more air into engine cylinder/air intake system ........

Questions: Will it "hurt" the engine or cylinder? or anythings related?

Understand that this product will create an "suction" or "vacuum" at 1 of the end if smaller particles went through this filter will it cause any damage to the engine/cylinder. As no much information (data) will given in local mag. on how this product works.

Anybody able to shine some lights on this topic? Thank you [;)][sunny][laugh]

I think it works better for carb cars, imo. I was looking at one few days back. From the way the mech talked about the installation to the way it is used, I dun have any confidence.

From my understanding, its working principle is similar to that of the Air Injector, whereby a small volume of air bypasses the carburetor/air flow sensor when going into the engine thru the E68, therefore giving leaner a/f mixture and better fuel economy.

Oh yeah, it has a magnet in it to supposedly break down the air molecules so that it burns better, just like how the MagFuel or other fuel magnets break down the chunky fuel molecules into smaller bits.

no lah... basically gets more air into the cylinders to improve power. Dun think it puts in that much that it can damage the engine - although your car will run hotter because of the leaning out of the fuel/air mix.

From what i heard.....

Installation is ok,is the tuning part ,it seem a lot of mech is not able to do it efficienlty....

should be able to tell. If tuned wrongly - e.g. open to big, your idle rev will go up - and car will creep forward if you driving auto. If open too small, then no effect.

On some cars, these gadgets let in air that bypasses the air flow meter, effectively leaning out the a/f mixture, coz the ECU thinks there's less air than the actual volume flowing into the engine, therefore instructing the injectors to shoot less fuel.

if open too wide, too lean a/f ration may cause detonation and up the lorry.

many ppl do not know wat it does.

to get max performace, open high air.jawdrop.gif

well, on idle usually there's no additional air, only when you accelerate it allows more air into the combustion chamber for better performance w/o revving as hard. So maybe it's bad, but so is revving hard all the time ??

Actually the general perception is that car manufacturers set the a/f ratio to slightly richer than needed, so that if something went wrong and leaned out the a/f slightly, it's still within a safe limit... not forgetting that they also wanna safeguard their own backside! [laugh][laugh][laugh]

So, in order to get slight improvements in fuel economy and response, some of us here have itchy hands and install Air Injectors/AirMax/E68/etc. to lean out the a/f back to the "optimum" (at least to those who spent money on the gadget and trying to justify the $ spent!) ratio.

Detonation with too much air? I don't think so... as too much air will decrease performance, and you'll rush to richen it back WAAAAAAY before detonation has a chance to happen! [laugh]

Depending on which type of air injector you've installed, there can be little or no extra air during idling. AFAIK only the Ecotek lets in no extra air during idling because it has a spring-loaded valve... u can still let in air during idling but the instruction tells u to adjust it so that air only goes in when RPM is above idling.

And when revving hard, these air injector gadgets don't really work anymore as they depend on vacuum to suck in extra air... wide open throttle = little or no vacuum = little/no air sucked thru the AI.

For me, I set my AI so that it lets in quite a bit of air during idling, to cut fuel consumption during idling! [sweatdrop] Of coz there's a limit to leaning out the a/f, as overdoing it will decrease power and increase combustion temperature!
