Octaviafan Neutral Newbie July 4, 2002 Share July 4, 2002 (edited) I read with a lot of interest the thread on revving your engine and that doing the Italian Tuneup is good for the engine. I am just curious to know if any Octy or Faby owners have done so. If so, did you encounter any problems, such a interior parts shaken loose by the high RPM or just any problem that came about after the high RPM runs? So far, I have not pushed my Octy pass 3500. Has anyone redlined their engine? Edited July 4, 2002 by Octaviafan ↡ Advertisement
Skoda_Man Neutral Newbie July 4, 2002 Share July 4, 2002 For me, it is close to impossible for me to redline my engine as long as i leave it in the D mode But I did go up to 6K rev in a few occasion.

Then u can feel 100% Stick FUN..
Vtim 3rd Gear July 4, 2002 Share July 4, 2002 For my previous car, yes it's italian, 1st gear is always redline for me, just love the sound of the boxer. The car's engine actually becomes more responsive, especially after a high rev run along the NS highway. As for my current car (9 mths old-Jap at 15000km), I still rev to the redline for the 1st gear, only after the initial 1000km, old habits die hard lar!
