Linus Clutched May 21, 2008 Share May 21, 2008 normally we would shampoo the car and then clay at the same time. did your neighbour mean clean = shampoo the car ?

Vroomtattat 2nd Gear May 21, 2008 Share May 21, 2008 Any claybar experts here can teach how to do it properly? I followed the instructions given on the claybar box but it says to rub claybar on the car surface. I did that but I do look like a clown trying to "rubba" my car. Is the correct way like kneading dough? Maybe I should attend a detailing session instead?
Linus Clutched May 21, 2008 Share May 21, 2008 you can follow the step by step guide as per link below. http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/gforum.cgi...t=186441#186441

Linus Clutched May 21, 2008 Share May 21, 2008 http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/gforum.cgi...t=186441#186441 you can follow the above step by step procedure. in any case, there are no strict rules to follow. some prefer to rinse off and then shampoo / clay at the same time. others prefer to shampoo, rinse and then follow by light shampoo and clay. one thing is for sure that you will need the shampoo to offer better "slipperiness" as you glide and drag the clay along the panels. by using water alone might not offer you the same degree of "slipperiness" as using shampoo. hope this helps.
