Jj5599 1st Gear November 15, 2010 Share November 15, 2010 I was thinking of DIY clay bar on my car for the first time. Is it easy enough to DIY or better to send to detailer? I mean would it be likely to cause more problems if I DIY? ↡ Advertisement
Wizzercool 1st Gear November 15, 2010 Share November 15, 2010 The process is easy, but you need to have patience and time (plenty of time). One mistake that I always make when I did the DIY claying was dropping the clay onto the ground rendering it useless for any use on the car body. Nzy Twincharged November 15, 2010 Share November 15, 2010 Actually i do drop it once a while..I soak into shanpoo..wash it and use it again.. If u can should just throw away. Cuz the shampoo sometimes cannot wash out the dirt and in the end ur car got alot of swirls.

Maddriver 4th Gear November 15, 2010 Share November 15, 2010 which brand is mild-abrasive? i think beginner i should use that? What shampoo should I use? I thought i should use the spray type quick detailer? Most off the shelf should be mild abrasive...I have clay lube coming in soon..To be premix with water and it has lots of lub in it.. You can use a quick detail for claying but I think is too expensive to use it just for claying..

Wolfy3769 2nd Gear November 22, 2010 Share November 22, 2010 the main hinderance for DIY Claybar is actually the process... wash.. claybar.. wash.... also dont want to waste the effort... normally will do the sealant & waxing.... so it was really very tiring... expect to spend hours @ the washing bay... but after claybar, the surface will be very smooth...very shiok to touch..
