ANYWAY,

could someone just help me with the main question:

HOW TO MEASURE THE WEIGHT OF THE RIMS?

Difficult to tell the weight unless U weigh the rim beforehand or weigh the entire thing now and go to tire shop and weigh the tire by itself. Normal bathroom scale should do.

Next time, if you happen to change tyres, just bring along a weighing scale! [;)] You can also go to the shop where you bought the rims and weigh a new one! [:p]

yeah thanks guys. you think the mechanic will think I'm a quack if I do that? laugh.gif

Nope..........he'll think you know your stuff and better not chop you! [laugh] Most ppl buy rims for their looks only. Not many ppl place importance in rim weight but it plays a big part in determining the performance of the car. Even with bigger rims and fatter tyre, the pick-up may not suffer or actually improve a little bit if the unsprung weight is lighter.

Take for example my stock Speedlines 16" (10.5kg) compared to the OZ Superleggera 16" (6.5kg). That's a total saving of 16kg in unsprung weight! [thumbsup]

Doc, I think most efficient way to reduce the car weight is trim-up your body (& my body) [thumbsup]

You've got that one right there! [sunny] Unfortunately, that's the hardest 'mod' to do too! [shakehead] And one more thing, throw away the ICE! [laugh] You won't believe how heavy the whole set-up is! [dizzy] For the sake of creature comfort! Haiz! [crazy]

The heavier ICE grow your weight up due to the effects of enjoyment & happieness.

More weights then to increasing.... [:|]

Ha, I'm falling-in the cycle also. [bigcry]

U & me have put on the 'big' cycles on our bodies. [bounce2]

Think of remove the air-con & ICE to reduce my body weight if no choice. [cool]
