Try another shop at Paya Ubi Ind Est. The shop name is Yap Brothers and they are on Level 1, same stretch as McWell. They have some rims and Kumho tires at $120 a piece for 215/45R17!!! [laugh][laugh][laugh]

I got my 195/55/R15 Aspec dB for slightly less than 100 each. Great relief, the 14" Hankook 866 that came as stock were real noisy! [:(]

You can try Eng Wah Tyres, 62500085 look for Vincent. Oh, can mention that Alex with the Kia Sephia recommended you! [blush]

No worries mate....I am pro anti Falken. [:p][:p][:p]

I will switch to Toyos as well after this set of tyres. IMHO, I find that these are tyres that are good enuff for daily driving. But performance is a little wanting.... [:(] (Yoko dBs)

Will be checking out the Toyos Guwns later when my I change my tyres.

HeeHee... just convinced a friend to change to Toyo Guwns. [:p]

Hope to sit in his car to see how it is. But according to him, it is very grippy. Fuel consumption is also getting higher.

BTW, are you the same "ghost" in the ICE forum?

Maybe the Toyo is really sticky?? [;)] Dun think he up sized his tyre, stock is 205/60/R15 (Bimmer).

Maybe after changing tyres, more confident so flat footed more ofter??? [:p][:p]

The Aspec DB is a very comfy tyre. Dry Grip is ok but wet grip is terrible.

I've done Pasir Gudang with this tyre in the wet. It was like skating on ice... [;)]

HX1 is new and not really tested by many car vendor.

Even BMW is fitting the old michelin XT1 and XT2, these are proven tyres.

HX1 should be softer

My Corolla is running on Yokohama Aspec dB A500 185/60R14 directional tyres. They are pretty quiet when cruising around 90-120km/h and roll quite a bit during cornering. Wet braking is average, wet cornering at high speed is no no and no. Aquaplanning below average. Steering is light. Tyre pressure 29psi

My Starlet is using Michelin XH1 185/60R14, directional, inside/outside thread pattern. Performance is above average. Dry and wet braking is good. Cornering in dry condition is excellent, wet - average. Aquaplanning excellent. Pretty quiet but not as quiet as dB A500. Ride is a little hash but performs up to my expectation. This is the set of tyres I test on my Starlet to stop from 100km/h-0 in about 3.5secs avg. Tyre pressure 28psi

Michelin has an "empty feel" on your steering when your car in travelling straight. It has the tendency to pull the steering to central straight (I find the feel is good) This behaviour happens in my power steered Corolla and non-power steered Starlet.

Yoko dB A500 is an average performer. A little scary when driving in wet. [laugh]

The behavior of both brands remains when I swap them all across 2 vehicles

Hope that helps.

Hi

Have you guys compare Aspec DB Vs Michelin XH1 ? Currently, i am using Pirelli P6000 ....

My fuel consumption went south immediately after switching to my Toyo R1R. 9.6 to 9.2! The more grip you have, the higher the fuel consumption.

That is the rolling resistance that you are talking about ? Normally for road use tyres, the rolling resistance is lesser and thus save fuel. But even that the saving IMHO the very best is 7% tops.

But trade grip with comsumation....I rather take the former. [cool]
