Spoke to Walter yesterday and have been told that the factory does not offer the distributor/service centre these keyless entry kits to be assembled seperately. Anyone here keen to see if we can do something about it? By the way... new forum looks and feels pretty cosy eh? Wonder if the SOG migration here has begun/completed? Fabiaman 1st Gear December 30, 2001 Share December 30, 2001 KyleNg, You are right, JTA does not carry org Skoda remote control... its all after market. In fact, quite a number of JTA distributed cars carry the aftermarket parts, like for eg the power window in the Octavia classic. The remote control that we get must be a higher end model in order for the double locking to work. So if someone tells you that remote alarm will render your double locking mechanism in the car useless, check again, most likely its BS. The double locking feature is programmeable only in better remote alarm makes like the Viper etc. Hence, prepare abt $ 300 or more if you are keen on fixing one up. I did check these facts with Dynasty Audio at Outram and he was quite shocked that someone told me that my car with double locks cannot fix any remore alarm. Kyleng Neutral Newbie December 30, 2001 Author Share December 30, 2001 I've been told that by the service centre that it can be done but, they do not have the know how as in what are the parts needed to order (coz the factory do not package them into a nice package and sell it to their distributors and service centres). Do you know if the installation will involve re-programing the ECU etc... Does Dynasty know how to go about doing it? Ask the boss, Jason, juz tell him that you are my friend, my name is Vivek, and he will be able to advise you on your car. If he cannot do your car, he will state so upfront.
