Zen Neutral Newbie August 11, 2003 Share August 11, 2003 1) Dunno how to advise you. However,I am looking for some audio warning. Currently, mine come with remote thingy. But no sound. In the end, sometimes forgot to lock properly. get a vagcom tool, can configure to beep (once for lock, double for unlock). ↡ Advertisement

Lightspeed Clutched May 9, 2004 Share May 9, 2004 Nope... all the shops I went to quoted too much .... $300. The only one that quoted below $200 ... alas, have no confi in them lah. Also btw... only me & Kyleng was keen... hence Group Buy project was abandoned. Hi! Did you install any aftermarket alarm in the end that works with the immobiliser? Fabiaman 1st Gear May 10, 2004 Share May 10, 2004 I believe most higher end ALARMs work with the immobiliser and the double-locking feature. Before installation must check with the installer. I think CrimeStopper (made in US) should meet all the required specs for the Skoda. But minimum cost of CrimeStopper at least $260 I think.

Thinking of installing it 'cos getting quite sian of using the key BTW, can tell me more about the locks of the car? Don't really know much cos many things not in the car manual. Skodee Neutral Newbie May 11, 2004 Share May 11, 2004 I've installed Crimestopper and it does not work effectively to lock the second time (the led on the driver's lock is not blinking). All the while I thought it is working but after reading this thread, upon check, that led i not blinking. Only when I used key to central lock it then it blinks. Going back there to check it out soon. I installed it for around $200 at 2nd flr Sin Ming Autocare.

Beanoyip Turbocharged May 12, 2004 Share May 12, 2004 I don't think servo does installation for these stuff, they'd recommend you to the audio shop beside the tyre shop just at the entrance.

Fabiaman 1st Gear May 13, 2004 Share May 13, 2004 Yes, that audio shop beside the tyre shop near the ramp on the 2nd floor. If you go there, must mention you are Dennis's recommended. Heard Dennis did a lot of things himself over there, plus a lot of the VW people go there too. That fella quite familiar with the Skoda too. Price wise, no big deal, I think pretty much market price. If Crimestopper like that, then what other alternatives? Am also thinking of installing one.

Got my eye on one with really nice colour LCD, but the price is VERY steep at $380 Edited May 13, 2004 by Lightspeed
Vass Neutral Newbie May 14, 2004 Share May 14, 2004 I was also checking around sometimes ago on remote, remember calling a few shops but most of them were unable to provide remote + original immo. I called CA once & they do something that can run parallel with our existing immo (piggy back on the ECU or something can't remember) Till today still using key to lock & unlock...Maybe u can chk with CA again.
