Yeobh 4th Gear January 26, 2004 Share January 26, 2004 The bolt has a cam-like centre portion ( offset from the bolt centre line). By screwing the bolt in or out will force linear movement to the wedge like assembly connecting to the wheel discs brake assembly. The linear movement will alter the wheel camber angle. For macpherson strut the method of adjusting the camber is to replace the exsiting strut top fix hole mounting plate with a new mounting plate that comes with elongated holes.The elongated holes allow certain amount of movement for the macpherson strunt, once the correct camber is set, the strunt is then bolt into place.
