What's your tyre size? Usually wider tyres will aquaplane more easily... somemore you use the Aspec dB, which is renowned for it's poor wet weather performance... nod.gifnod.gif

Tell that to the guy driving a Nissan Sunny I met on the way to Desaru in very wet conditions. dizzy.gif

He was going 90 kph only ..... and I was thinking maybe no experience driving in the wets .... or just plain relax mood. Overtook him and went off continued to Desaru. nod.gif

Until I got to the Desaru Hotel ... where he was part of a Singapore convoy of 5 cars. He came out of his car cursing and swearing that his tyres cannot hold the wet conditions .... whilst his friends were mocking him for driving like a Granny wink.gifwink.gif

His tyres : ASPEC DB shocked.gifshocked.gifshocked.gif

ps : Bro Nissan Sunny , if you are reading this. I must tell you your car was swerving left and right when you hit those puddles manz .... I was in a hurry to overtake you cause I didnt feel comfortable sitting behind you whilst you kept braking before each puddle.

Well, here's my comment ...

On my Sunny, I was using AspecDB (195/55R15) and I didn't really encounter much problem even on wet condition. I dunno about the mentioned Sunny driver, but basically I think the tyre holds up well for a pretty much stock not-much power 1.6L car.

However, getting my Stream, I immediately upgraded to AspecDB for it's quietness. 195/65R15 was the size and I did encounter a few wheel spinning in wet condition !

The closest shave was the slope up to IMM level 2. It was raining and I was stucked on the slope. When moving off, the tyre was spinning and I was slidding backward !!! WOW ! That's really a close shave ...

my es100 also holding well for the raining days.... but a lot of passengers complain noisy. May switch to a quiet tyre when time comes.

The Aspec dB on my dad's VIP served him well for over 50k... but eventually, the grip was getting very poor and the noise level crept up... so recently changed to Bridgestone GR80... much better grip and the noise level is comparable to new Aspec dBs...thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif
