Elmo 4th Gear January 24, 2015 Share January 24, 2015 Kah Motors is introducing the new Mobilo, a 7 seater compact 1.5 litre MPV. Any reviews so far? The reviews I have seen so far are from India. Quite detailed and good reviews there.

kmttan 4th Gear January 27, 2015 Share January 27, 2015 We are also deciding between Honda Mobilio ($130) and Chevrolet Orlando ($119). Note that Mobilio has a $5K CEVS rebate that must be added into the price tag to compute depreciation. Mobilio does not look nice but we are quite sure that Honda can last 10 years. Furthermore, Mobilio's second row seat is adjustable to allow the 3rd row more leg space when required. Orlando's interior is more appealing and has the continental feel, and is $11K cheaper. However, we are not sure if it will last us 10 years. Another car is Toyota Avanza, which attracted us because of its 5 years warranty and servicing. However, it does not look nice and is made in Indonesia. We have not test driven both, because we are quite an idiot in differentiating driving experience. My current car is a Toyota Wish, expiring in May 2015.
Elmo 4th Gear January 27, 2015 Share January 27, 2015 (edited) has anyone managed to test drive this car and compare it to say Mazda 5 MPV?There's currently only 1 showroom unit shared between the Ubi and Alexandra showrooms. The test drive units will probably come along with the next shipment in Mar/Apr. Heard a SE said some are stuck in the LTA waiting for the dyno. Was tempted man but Im still concern on French car reliability lol...

Agree with you, French cars are beautiful aesthetically but their reliability based on past history is really questionable. A pity though...
Elmo 4th Gear January 27, 2015 Share January 27, 2015 I had viewed Grand Scenic, Mazda5, Wish, Orlando, Touran and finally Mobilio. I only test drove the Scenic as it was the only one that impressed my wife. The interior was really much better in terms of comfort, quality - finishing and feel, and spaciousness compared to the rest. The 3rd row however is not as easy to access compared to Mobilio. What put me off was the 2nd row seats that will slam down with the connecting points like hole-punchers into areas that could very well have someone's feet placed there, if not careful. The reliability was also a concern though I was willing to give it a go as the review for this model was better than other older Renaults. Mazda5 was my next choice but lost out due to its rather small boot with the 3rd row seats up. Then came Mobilio and we saw it at Ubi on the first weekend it was here. Other than the cheap interior which I think (hope) will last longer, the easy access to 3rd row by tumbling the 2nd row creating a huge space to climb into, won us over. It is rather spacious for something that looks like a elongated Jazz. Much like the Airwave. The 3rd row seats can be inclined, while still allowing them to be seated with relative comfort to create more space at the boot if needed. So for us it is a much practical 7 seater with needed boot space. I only signed on it during the Motorshow. Mulling over it as I can't test drive and reading up the reviews instead. All the reviews I saw are from India. There's some from Indonesia which I can't understand. Overall I think it is a practical no-frills MPV. Good for occasional 7 seating with luggage. ↡ Advertisement
