Ghostrider 3rd Gear February 17, 2004 Share February 17, 2004 Wonder what presuure to pump for 205/50/R16 tire? Still 220 or more Wattz dis ? We have another ghostrider here ?? How much to pump depend on what is your tyre & peference. For your size normally they recommend you do around 220-240. For comfort. But some tyres like Goodyear Eagle need to pump it a little more to extract the performance. If you have doubt, refer to the door panel of your car for the recommended pressure. If not check thru your manual, they should have some guideline for you to follow.
Toybabe Neutral Newbie February 17, 2004 Share February 17, 2004 U pumped so much?? I always have the impression that the tyre will burst
Ravinged 5th Gear February 17, 2004 Share February 17, 2004 These are tyres lah babe ... not balloons ... I am now again on Goodyear GT ... I pump in 210/200 (front/rear) ... the bottom flatten out quite abit, and I feel that drag so much when I take off. So slowly pump in according to the ratio and see which is the best ... BINGO ... 250/240 is giving me the best performance ... it's quite big a ratio for 14" tyres ... I was surprised too when I had to pump in that much. Tyres wise, initially quite slippery ... but as the tyre wear out, the grip gets better and I have no skidding so far on wet road. And rather quiet too. If you are not into hard driving like me, then can give it a try. 75/pc Ed
Toybabe Neutral Newbie February 17, 2004 Share February 17, 2004 Whats the rationale of pumping different PSI for front and back?? I always pump either 220 or 230..
Ravinged 5th Gear February 17, 2004 Share February 17, 2004 Most car are front wheel drive ... and therefore greater pressure on the front wheels. Advisable to pump a little higher for the front to compensate for the weight of the engine block resting on your front tyres. Rear wise, I assume you don't really fill up your boot 100% every single day. Ed
