Been reading about this for quite a while. Anyone knows when SM Motors is bringing this model in and how much it's expected to retail for?

So it's going to go head-on with the X5 then ? With that sort of pricing (which seems to be ine of the main things many will look at) the RX300 looks...er....cheap. sort of, anyway.

BTw, this month's issue of CAR has a pretty thorough writeup of it, for those who are interested. Interesting thing is the writers were requested to refrain from commenting about handling....

Wow 200k+.

Are they bringing in the 2.5T model? Read a review on www.nctd.com, apparently the 2.5T's handling and transmission is better than the T6.

It's handling is tamed by a stability control which brakes the outside wheels in detected roll cases

....which, coupled to crash-compatibility considerations in its design, is pretty cool for something its size.... [nod]

Not certain about the 2.5T yet. The T6 has the old 4-sp geartronic shifter, that was a problematic box in the 1999 S80s and they have switched to a 5-sp auto on the S80. Sad it didn't reach the XC90, they're getting a new autobox for the XC90 in due time.

Well, that's a comforting though in the event of the unthinkable - right now, practically all Sport-utes, being what they are just go over a normal car, a case which would most likely bypass all safety measures in place (no airbags deployment because no impact, no crumple zone in action because nothing to crumple it, skewer cars due to their heights, etc.) so kudos, I say, to Volvo for it thoughtfulness..... [thumbsup][thumbsup]
