After the spark came bursting out, all I can do is [jawdrop] .

Car idles smoother. Has this want to go even in the high end.

Got it used. Can't imagine if I install an MSD6A. [thumbsup] .

My car seems to be going places. Got a Weber 32/36DGAV in a junkyard over the weekend. Bought it together with 2 Dellorto 36DRLA downdraft and a Weber 36IDA for 100 bucks. Currently getting the rebuild kit for the DGAV. The water choke inlet is corroded with a big gaping hole. As for the the other two, might just clean them up for an auction over eBay.

The Mega Power Coil is from someone currently going thru a rebuild of the engine. Didn't really got it to work as the car died very easily with "PfFFT!" sound like one cylinder is misfiring. Finally found out that the spark plug connection to one of them was loose.

eeerrrrr, pardon me, but just curious what are these you are talking about? Does MSD stands for Mutiple spark discharge? Think I saw one when I was at McWell.....what does it do, and can it be installed in any cars?

Yes it stands for Multiple Spark Discharge but it is also the name of the company making it. These are what are called CDI or capacitive discharge ignition. Other companies making this are Mallory and Accel.

You can install it in your car but don't expect miracles. It improves idling alot.

Mine does not have a CDI unit installed. Only the high power coil. According to some people, if you use "U" groove spark plugs coupled with a high power coil, it will mimic a CDI unit installation.

The best advice is to go at it one step at a time. Get the high power coil first. But first you got to make sure your distributor cap has 5 outlets instead of 4 (if 4-cyl car). The 5th outlet is to be connected to the high power coil. I spied out a coil in JB going for RM350! Exchange rate is at SGD100 = RM226.

If there is an offer for the high power coil plus MSD6A, get it. You can choose to put in a rev limiter version if you want. In that way, you can prevent the engine from going beyond its means.

Thanks for the clarification........appreciate it

In singapore, do you have any idea what the price range is like for the high power coil and the MSD6A? And can these mods pass inspection?

Sorry for so many questions.....

Done but going thru some minor tweaks. Bearings are loose from the installation so got to get better ones. The chiong Toyota rims are the worst mistake I've made. The offset is wrong. It is a 4X100PCD but the offset is wrong. Explains the rubbing I've been encountering since I got them. Realized it as I exchanged rims with with someone else's ESi Advan rims. Found out the chiong rims can't fit well into his ESi even though they are also 4X100PCD. In the end got to spend RM40 for some spacers. He will get rid of the rims and tires. The Sumitomo HTR T4s on it CMI! Nearly sent him to the railings in one corner. I told him to be careful with these lousy goods. [thumbsdown]

Some other person also got these same chiong rims for his Starlet and they are rubbing on the lower arm as well! I have relayed my experience to him and advised him to get rid of them.

Hey but I got used Advan rims [sly] . They are lighter than the chiong rims.

Dunno. I know McWell sells these red boxes. They can pass inspections. Your emissions will improve by leaps and bounds.

Saw lots of Solex carburetors there. But I was only looking out for the DGV only but didn't expect to bag the DRLA and IDA. There is an ICH from a Fiat but didn't get it. Not performance carburetor (must have higher taste [;)] ).
