Andrewkb Neutral Newbie May 22, 2004 Share May 22, 2004 I noticed that my power steering pulley is really dirty .. the area around it and the inner diameter of the pulley. Question I have here is, does these dirty accumulated over time, cause unbalanced pulley rotation ? And will cleaning it help ? Anyway, since I was waiting in the carpark, I took some cloth and wipe the area clean .. Also, there're other pulleys down below that I can't access, so I don't really know if they're as dirty .. but from the look of it, the PS steering is really dirty ! Just curious .... ↡ Advertisement
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie May 24, 2004 Share May 24, 2004 The belt grooves should "clean" out any debris in the pulleys, if you're cleaning the pulleys never use any petroleum or lube based cleaners! Next time you send your ride to servicing ask the mech to blow the engine area with compressed air lor
Yeobh 4th Gear May 25, 2004 Share May 25, 2004 The best way out is to degrease and wash the engine bay ↡ Advertisement
