Crazy Neutral Newbie July 5, 2004 Share July 5, 2004 Hi folks, does anyone here know how much power can the 156GTA gain from aftermarket tuners? Which tuners are worth considering? (apart from Novitec although I can't find much info on Novitec's site on the GTA) Thanks in advance for your suggestions. ↡ Advertisement

Tron Neutral Newbie July 5, 2004 Share July 5, 2004 maybe u might wanna meet up 1st - so u can "consider" the potential ur ride can take... so far there is ONE 156 GTA tat is the TOPS when it come to mods & power of his ride... in any case, it seems for a FWD with already 250BHP - adding more > than 300bhp will likely require tat u install an LSD to get all tat power down... the GTA a great NA engine as it is... be sad if u think of going the way of FORCED induction... cheers! Crazy Neutral Newbie July 5, 2004 Author Share July 5, 2004 (edited) Hi Cool Jazz, sorry to disappoint u. Unfortunately, I do not drive the GTA. I m currently just doing my research on the possibility and extension of mods that can be done on the GTA before making a commitment. Nowadays buy car, cannot sell for a long long time. So must make sure the next buy is a wise one so that I can stay happy for a long time! King, thanks for the info. Genie47 1st Gear July 5, 2004 Share July 5, 2004 I bought my car based on the amount of engine bay space for expansion components. Like buying computer with CPU casing.

Slowpoke156 Neutral Newbie July 6, 2004 Share July 6, 2004 There are big bore kits you can do for the car. Highly recommended if you want to maintain the characteristics of the car, look and sound stock and highly undetectable. I believe I read that you can do a 3.5L conversion and bump the power up to 300bhp easily and still run on the standard computer and fueling system. Tron Neutral Newbie July 6, 2004 Share July 6, 2004 (edited) Alfa tuning will likely be similar to NA cars like honda in terms of the "path" u might wanna follow in order to retain the "character" of the car & engine - ECU remaps, CAMS, exhausts systems, Intake mods are all aplenty. Dun be fooled cos Japan has LOADS & LOADS of good quality mods for Alfas... and i can personally vouch for it - so if u talk abt "ACCESS" to mods - its not an issue at all. On the othr side, in Europe there are also various tuners available. Abt the boring out of the engine.. - well we have real life examples lik the AUTODELTA 147 GTA 3.7l with 328BHP... and it seems to be proven... it beat the M3 & WRX STI (by a few seconds - but BEAT nonetheless ) while being tested round the track by the STIG in TOP GEAR. but of cos that all comes with a price...check it out at www.autodelta.co.uk apparently Jeremy clarkson was much impressed by the Autodelta 147GTA when he did a review of it for the Sunday Times in UK. So he sort of asked the boss of autodelta if he wanted the car to be featured in top gear (knowing it wld "make" or "break" the car if it did or did not perform well)... he accepted and the rest is history. so the issue of "modability" of AR cars... is NOT an issue i say... u want full titanium exhausts and carbon bonnets for your AR?? i got source from Japan.. just let me know.. u want Forged 18" rims with specific PCD 98 for ur AR?? i also can get... so go for an Alfa Romeo if u must - modability shld not be an excuse!! cheers!
