Panda Neutral Newbie August 3, 2004 Share August 3, 2004 Anyone used these before? Any comments on its compound, life, dry and wet? If possible, add the width ratio and radii of the tyres you've used before. Comments from places like Tirerack are highly discountable IMHO. ↡ Advertisement

Roberttan 5th Gear August 3, 2004 Share August 3, 2004 used on WRX before find it quite good on our road condition.(fitted as OEM tyre) pricey is subjective ,so long you are happy. next tyre may be S03 or michelin Pilot sport 2(this one even more exx cost around $50for 225/45/.17 if you are on budgetgo for Falken but don't expect good performance. just MHO
Roberttan 5th Gear August 3, 2004 Share August 3, 2004 sorry is $350 for Pilot Sport 2(heard that shortage of supply from France cos selling well in Europe)
Panda Neutral Newbie August 5, 2004 Author Share August 5, 2004 Hmm... okay... Cos I was thinking these RE040s are not cheap and not easy to get either in Sgp. Moreover, dunno how's the wet like. I was told that some alternatives like AD07 or GIII can be cheaper than the OEM RE040s. SO3 as most have testified, give you that kind of performance they are priced for. But... ugh... heehee! I cheapo! Falkens and Continentals are definitely NOT on the list (well since we can't get 451 anymore).
Panda Neutral Newbie August 5, 2004 Author Share August 5, 2004 350??? Darn... what size are you using? Yeah... SO3... looks like its gonna be SO3 or AD07...

Panda Neutral Newbie August 7, 2004 Author Share August 7, 2004 OMG. 350 for PS2 225/45/17... that's unacceptably expensive!
Roberttan 5th Gear August 7, 2004 Share August 7, 2004 I am ok with them so long they provide me what I want , I always willing to reward the business if they do well to my expectation I am not rich but still can affort and also peace of mind worth the value $ i pay not only the cost of rubber also the quality of product/workmanship knowledge/aftersale service too. A can a soft drink cost cent of 45 at night market/55 at NYUC/80 at vending m/c $1 to $1.5 at food outlet and may be $8 at night club so is a chicken and egg problem and how to justisfy $
Panda Neutral Newbie August 7, 2004 Author Share August 7, 2004 That's a good philosophy too! At least you are psychologically liberated. I'm more that conspiracy theory, and overly suspicious type.

Silver_blade Turbocharged August 14, 2004 Share August 14, 2004 I think RE040 should be good. I'm using RE050 and it perform rather good (within it's class) in both wet and dry. Think South East Tyres is selling the RE040.
Assassin Clutched August 14, 2004 Share August 14, 2004 OMG. 350 for PS2 225/45/17... that's unacceptably expensive! And ~S$250 for 205/50/16 for the Pilot Sport. Pirelli Dragon ~S$195 and Pilot Precedas ~S$165 for 205/50/16.
Panda Neutral Newbie August 15, 2004 Author Share August 15, 2004 Next time you're at your shop, help me check for 225/45/18? RE070... ooooo... I love things priced in RM.
Panda Neutral Newbie August 15, 2004 Author Share August 15, 2004 GIII is heavy but a good set of tires. Balance of lifespan and grip I would say. There're surely quite a few bros here on GIII. So far feedback heard from other friends on this tire is pretty good. However... I don't like the price. Was quoted more expensive than AD07, which IMHO is a much better tire in terms of performance, but shorter lifespan.
Panda Neutral Newbie August 15, 2004 Author Share August 15, 2004 Yup. Just saw on an advert recently. RE series look like premium grade stuff... but so is the price! However I need to pose this question to all bros out there: Now rubber compound have optimal operation temperatures and humidity. I believe that some tires are not marketed in a locality as it may not be most suitable, due to excessive wear from temperature, or shortened shelf-life from humidity. Now, how would we know if the tire is meant for our region? ↡ Advertisement
