Selespeed156 Neutral Newbie October 10, 2002 Share October 10, 2002 Pushed the tyres hard today at Marina south, of course on a clear quiet stretch and made sure that there are no cars around. Cornered at different speed and power out all the times...... until the tyres start to complain, but still gripping. Good grip indeed. Losing out only a little bit to SO3. ↡ Advertisement

Blue Neutral Newbie October 11, 2002 Share October 11, 2002 (edited) Hi, sorry to barge in but me oso using 712 17" but only slighty noisier than falken grb's. Totally agree with doc prices might go up . Just did a hard braking with abs cutting in (not on purpose of course) from about 80+ and tyres felt ok. Not mistaken read somewhere that if tyres is of different rating/profile on a same axle insurance coverage in an accident is void. Better be safe than sorry. Madarmour Neutral Newbie October 11, 2002 Share October 11, 2002 >>Whenever I brake hard, my steering will sway to one side. Hope you've settled the side-veering problem with your new tyres. Another thing to consider is the alignment.
Yttrium Neutral Newbie October 11, 2002 Share October 11, 2002 (edited) I got my tyres balanced again.. this time at Southern Tyres along Upper Bukit Timah as recommended by somebody here a while ago. The guy rode along with me to test if there were still vibrations and he said the same thing... Korean brand, noisy.. And said mine looked like they came off somebody's new car. I wonder how he can tell! What cars come stock with Kumhos? The korean makes? Edited October 11, 2002 by Yttrium
Madarmour Neutral Newbie October 11, 2002 Share October 11, 2002 >>Losing out only a little bit to SO3. But cost a lot less! It will outlast the SO3.
Madarmour Neutral Newbie October 11, 2002 Share October 11, 2002 You don't need a super fast car to have good tyres. Your 'rolla is capable of >170kph. To me, that's already very fast. My babe's connected to the ground via 4 small patches only. I'd better make sure those contacts are good!
Madarmour Neutral Newbie October 11, 2002 Share October 11, 2002 I'm interested to know too as someone told me the performance Nokian is good.
Blue Neutral Newbie October 11, 2002 Share October 11, 2002 Another factor to consider is the air pressure of the tyres then the next thing would be to check the brake pressure to the slave pump of each wheel. Easiest way out before goin to the mech. is to feel the rims/wheel area for unbalanced heat.

Unknown_G7 Neutral Newbie October 11, 2002 Author Share October 11, 2002 You mean corolla can went up to 170kph! So far I had tried 130kph and not further than that cos I worried that my engine can't take it!
Freemason Neutral Newbie October 11, 2002 Share October 11, 2002 they say Nokian is also known as Nokia...way before time, Nokia, or shld i say Nokian used to make rubbers, after which they turn their head to making handphones...thus changing their name to Nokia wonder how true is that
