By the way, for this car here...

...this was what happened to the driver.

But then, I've seen worse photos than this, which may get me banned if I ever post those here.

Toll free ? I think not for long laugh.gif

Anyway, they are introducing GST in 2007 wink.gif

But yes, the Cameron Highlands route is thumbsup.gif

That highway wasn't completed yet the last time I paid a visit. But from what I saw, there were no toll plazas in sight. And the site contractors said it's supposed to be a toll-free road. If we approach from the south, the journey may be a little further, since the entrance to the highway is further up north and closer to Ipoh.

Tell that to Samy Velu laugh.giflaugh.gif

Now that Badawi has replaced Mahathir, I think Samy Vellu will start behaving himself a little. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

"seem to be objective about reporting outside our tiny island but are strangely gagged the moment it affects local concerns"

not when it comes to PI cars that is... remember the blatant ST article before? Saying all the bad things about PI cars, esp. Merc and there smack in the middle of the 2-page motoring section is a C&C ad (I think on getting a Merc from them instead of PI) rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif

Oh boy, do I remember that article. Couldn't they have been a little less obvious? [dizzy]

Neutral Newbie

Well. In the past, Mazda has one of the roughest Japs engine other than Subaru. But the latter has better performance. Not sure if recent 1,2,3,6 will make any difference after 2-3 years drive even though Mazda changes the numbering.

Does it means if you show the photo of the burning Mazda 6, no one else will by Mazda 6?

Does the Mazda6 have well-known engine overheating issues that causes fires in the engine bay?

[jawdrop][jawdrop]C E N S O R E D .. the pics [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

The few photos I posted were quite mild actually. There were a few gruesome shots that showed a motorcyclist who kena langgar. Remember the android "Bishop" who got ripped apart by the queen xenomorph in Aliens? Well... that's how the motorcyclist looked like, except with red blood instead of white. well.. i think its pretty hard to find another Mit, Cit or Dai to do a trf of tech to them.

That's true.

Besides, tech transfers never quite worked out right in the past. And calling it a "technology transfer" may be a little misleading. "Sale of obsolete technology" is a more accurate discription.

Outright transfers of commercially valuable technologies are unheard of. Unrelated manufacturers will only go as far as to engage in co-developments of platforms to reduce development costs, like the collaboration between Porsche and Volkswagen to produce their Cayenne and Touareg respectively. Such collaborations call for joint contribution of technologies by all parties concerned. Even certain projects involving only in-house efforts (i.e. between related companies) may generate some friction, like Lamborghini's unhappiness that the Audi Le Mans borrows too much from the Gallardo that resulted in the former being the more superior sports car.

In Proton's case, getting a foreign partner isn't impossible, but to compensate for an inability to add value by way of technical contributions, it must be willing to offer a lot of incentives and perhaps cede some control in order to present an attractive business proposition.

I'm admittedly not very aware that Mazda has "rough" engines. In fact, when you compare the Mazda 323 Protege against an older Mitsubishi Lancer, the former is usually favoured and recommended by many people.
