I changed from Havoline to Mobil tri synthetic.... There was no change except that Havoline lasted me only 8000km before I had to change, and Mobil 1 has lasted me 15000km and going strong.

I've heard many negative remarks and rumours about Mobil 1 (oil breaks down)....but I find it to be rather good. Except that it costs more than usual.

I should be trying Fuchs SuperSyn, as a cost-effective "next change".

Read some good reviews, and costs only $48.

And throttle response...

I did a century sprint today for the fun of it, and had an estimated 10.5s (hand-timed) for my Presea.

As I had a poor launch (was trying hard to avoid wheelspin), and with my 205/45R16 tyres, I know this is a decent timing.

No mods in my car, except a "aluminium & cardboard heat shield" + "cardboard aided cooler-air channeling". [laugh]

cheers

What's the viscosity rating of those oils you use? Rather than comparing brands, IMO it's better to compare the visco rating. Changing from a thinner to a thicker oil may cause the symptoms you experienced. Unless the two type of oil has the same viscosity, of course. [;)]
