Silver_blade Turbocharged October 3, 2004 Share October 3, 2004 Opel make good cars; a workhorse. It is not a luxury in Europe, just your usual run-about cars. It is reliable and has very good built-quality (not VW or audi standard). Best to test drive the vectra and see it for yourself.

Silver_blade Turbocharged October 5, 2004 Share October 5, 2004 Really? Cool. Saw a vectra GTS on the road last week...very nice.
Omegaz22xe Neutral Newbie October 5, 2004 Share October 5, 2004 Opel cars solid & long-lasting. Reliability cannot match japanese made. Maintenance is on the high side if serviced by agent. My Omega B clocked 137,000km in 3 years 7 months and still in relatively good condition (finger crossed). By the way, my previous car was Vectra A 1.6M (Scrapped at 5th year due high COE, sayang man).
Soya Supersonic October 5, 2004 Share October 5, 2004 "...Opel cars solid & long-lasting. Reliability cannot match japanese made..." har? isn't reliable = long lasting?
Metrix2 Neutral Newbie October 5, 2004 Author Share October 5, 2004 I'm surprised reliability is behind Japanese. That's bad considering the amount of computer stuff I saw in the GTS. Is there a better conti car that cost about the same? Or would a Toyota Camry be less headache? A sporty car is preferred but money is main concern.. Husky Clutched October 5, 2004 Share October 5, 2004 Used to drive a second hand Opel Astra G 1.6A for 2 years. Must say that it is quiet and stable at expressway speeds. The handling is good but the acceleration is a bit poor though as it is heavy and the engine only gives 100 bhp. However, the low-end torque is good and you will have no problems with slopes. FC is average only (if you have the bucks, should be ok). Quality of the interior is better than most jap cars. Overall, i like the car a lot P.S: One thing i hate most is having to use the left hand to flick the indicator stalk. Cannot drive with one hand!!! Soya Supersonic October 6, 2004 Share October 6, 2004 for $100k and if yr priority is comfort, space & reliability plus a good drive, i would strongly recommend the 2.4 accord.
Silver_blade Turbocharged October 6, 2004 Share October 6, 2004 (edited) The accord sold by KAH is ugly. Prefer the PI's ones. Can also consider the Skoda Superb and VW Passat 2.0 for slightly more $$$$. Edited October 6, 2004 by Silver_blade
Soya Supersonic October 6, 2004 Share October 6, 2004 i would even say it's fugly but it does kinda grows on u and now strangely, i find it quite unique looking. gimme the 2.4 over the PI 2.0L anytime, man.
Seansene 1st Gear October 6, 2004 Share October 6, 2004 P.S: One thing i hate most is having to use the left hand to flick the indicator stalk. Cannot drive with one hand!!! Then better learn to drive with two!
Husky Clutched October 6, 2004 Share October 6, 2004 ke ke, only sometimes do i drive with 1 hand. Most of the time with 2 hands. ↡ Advertisement
