ECU reset problem

[:(] Hi all

After my ECU reset by unplugging one of my battery terminal, it seems that my car is less responsive than b4.

It seems that I am loosing the low-end torque which is affecting my pickup.

Does this mean that the ECU is still in a "learning" curve? Any possibility of damage to my car?

Any helpful comments is much appreciated.

Thanks!

the ECU operates with a fixed set of AF mix on initial runs. but the logirithim incorporates fuzzy logic that reads and eats up the input fr u, works out a best fit scenario after several runs.

resetting of ECU typically does not damage it cos it is current (fuse) protected.

Most of the Japanese car do no have the ability to "re-learn" - that means the engine computerised management systems do have the " keep-alive-memory" chip to store and disgest the collected engine performance data.

Try dismantling a volvo , BMW or mercedes battery connections - the computerised managnement systems will at once switch to "limp-mode" - that means the car will be allowed to be driven only at slow speed with poor acceleration.

There is two wyas to solve the problem - one is to get an OEM scanner and reset the systems back to default or drive the car for the next 350km or more to allow the " keep-alive-memory ' chip collect all the necessary data.
