I had seen one by Nakamichi which can store 6 disc...but cant recall the model no. do other brand carry such kind of set? (I think most are directly OEM for the car makers). Xiaogary Neutral Newbie November 17, 2004 Share November 17, 2004 Does sound quality depend on HU and CD changer? I have the Blaunpunkt Atlanta CD34 player which can be connected to this blaunkpunt In dash changer. I find that my current ICE configuration very lousy. Its stock 4 inch front speaker with tweeter and rear 6x9 inch speaker. I cannot feel the bass. Only sharp sound, no low bass. If I planning to add a 500w amp to power a 12 inch woofer, is it good enuf? Or have to change the front and rear speaker as well?
Nemesis Neutral Newbie November 17, 2004 Share November 17, 2004 I think HU does make a diff But CD changer I doubt so Juz a e.g. for Blaupunkt, same Skyline CD Tuner San Francisco CD72 v.s. Seattle CD72 SF is better and more expensive b'cos is higher end And of course T-Line, FunLine and Skyline is of diff class the latest will be better. And not forget the rest of the components such as amp, woofer, speakers and etc. It juz like buying a good audio system but playing pirated CD. the SQ sucks even on a very good audio system My $0.02. Cracker 1st Gear November 17, 2004 Author Share November 17, 2004 u will need to upgrade the front speaker to comp. type...and add a power amp to drive it. The difference will be ... the rear speakers can remain as stock..cos they are there to fill up the sound stage.
Xiaogary Neutral Newbie November 25, 2004 Share November 25, 2004 Mine front is already a component speaker already right? Mine front speaker at the door is a 4 inch speaker and the 2 A pillar got tweeter in it. Thinking of adding a amp and 12 inch woofer now, but duno how many watt woofer to buy? Is 500w rms power enough?
Cracker 1st Gear November 25, 2004 Author Share November 25, 2004 i once had a woofer installed on my boot... took out after a few mths.....due to the need of space plus the booming effect was beginning to put me off.

Xiaogary Neutral Newbie November 26, 2004 Share November 26, 2004 U mean me? I will stick to 12 inch woofer. I dont need the boot space. Somemore I need better and lower bass than that underseat small bass.
Cracker 1st Gear November 26, 2004 Author Share November 26, 2004 i am happy with the bass output from my front comp. speaker (blaupunkt velocity series) ↡ Advertisement
