Apologise for the late reply. The muffler was fitted at Fong Kim. Anyway, alr refitted my stock muffler, after someone kissed my car's rear end (dont want to cause any problems with insurance claims)

Guys,

No lah. The guy at FK asked me whether I wanted the loud types (aka Bengmobile exhaust - no flames please). Told him to install the 'as soft as possible' type. Dont now how to call the exhaust, so conveniently called it 'low-volume'.

Anyway, the exhaust sounded no diff to stock unless the rev exceeds 4K.

AFAIK, to achieve a "softer" straight thru muffler, the size must be increased. Did U do a visual comparison between the "loud" and "soft" mufflers? [crazy]

The size of the 'softer' muffler was much bigger compare to the bengmobile type. But the diameter of the tail pipe for the bengmobile exhaust was at least 2.5inch (estimated). The guy mentioned that he is also selling mufflers with 3" tail pipe. Wow ! Must attract TP to your car like bees to honey man [:p]

Anyway, even with the 'soft' exhaust, the sound gets quite irritating after a while. [mad]

The tailpipe doesn't really matter, as long as it's equal or larger than the muffler diameter for outlet flow.

There are 5" dunk pipe outlets too [shocked]

Make my think of my late renault Coupe (1.6l) also changed 'Supersprint' with 90mm tail pipe [;)].

Another thing was my renault did not got the same case as Rev can't or difficult to climb-up, logically, less back pressure then straight out to exhaust, rev up should be even more easier (whether U car can move or not), same as breaking at the exhaust, sound louder, rev up like rocket take-off, but car can't move faster. [:/]

Well, I always believe it's better to buy a 'system' made specifically for a car and not the generic 'universal' type as those made fao a car type are usually dyno-tested to produce result.

Some car, after putting on the generic exhaust, sounds fast but can't move fast! [;)][;)][;)]

Yeah a properly fabricated exhaust system meant for a particular car model will be superior to a mix and match set from the exhaust shop.

Dyno tests, TUV, DOT stamps of quality are a plus of getting a branded tailored made system too. [;)]

Richard's fist can fit meh? He just estimated, didn't put in lah [:p]

Well, that's what he said! [;)] He's the one who put his fist up close your tail pipe! [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Oops! The last sentence may give rise to lateral interpretations! [laugh][laugh][laugh]
