  1. Hi all, Recently realised that the car air flow keeps changing from internal circulation to allowing air from outside to enter and then back to internal circulation. When it is switched to the later, the coolness of the aircon drops. It is normal?
  2. Hi Masters, I got a questions on aircon filter airflow direction. We place the aircon filter behind the glove compartment, which direction is the air going? Is it being suck out of the car thru the filter or is it being push into the car thru the filter? Thanks for looking.
  3. happened last night 10Feb13. SO dangerous! LOST? Took a wrong turn?
  4. Hi MCFers, Do you know can I get this product? I tried Autobacs but they do not carry this product. I'm okie with other brands as well. Please share your lobangs. Cheers & Thanks!
  5. STOMPer Ave said the her dad almost got into an accident when a car suddenly came speeding against the flow of traffic on the CTE today morning (May 6), at 5.45am. Said the STOMPer: "My father almost could not react to the oncoming car travelling on the same lane at the wrong direction! "This shocking scene took place this morning, at 5.45am at CTE expressway. " http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...fic_on_cte.html How can this be possible? Drunk driving?
  6. Always happen when merging into high way express way or some main road, there are other cars behind you waiting because of your stupidity. The 3rd lane is long and straight without vehicles, why is there such a need to jump to another lane with so many vehicles at crawling speed?
  7. ST Forum Jun 9, 2011 Many driving against traffic flow between carparks I HAVE on numerous occasions witnessed motorists driving against the traffic flow to get into either the Wheelock Place carpark, or the Far East Shopping Centre carpark when they fail to find a spot at the open-air carpark directly opposite Borders bookstore at Wheelock Place. Last week, during the heavy downpour during lunch time, a woman driver drove against the traffic to cut the waiting queue to the Far East Shopping Centre carpark. Pedestrians crossing the narrow road, and walking across the Wheelock Place carpark (rightly) would not expect cars coming from a direction that is clearly against the traffic flow. Paul Heng
  8. Anyone knows where to get the residential flow meter, to measure the fluid flow. Those that we see in our house. Anyone knows where to buy? DIY shop? Or Anyone knows where got upgrading and got free flow meters to pick up? Thanks. (searched the web, seems all the supplier are from china, and need to buy bulk >100pieces. I only need 3 pieces from my project)
  9. can anyone confirm that installing free flow muffler is bad for low end for auto given stock condition.? any experience to share. just wan the zoom zzoom sound.
  10. Noticed that pumping petrol in SG station like taking forever but it's very fast in MY station this is because the flow rate at MY pump is much faster if u notice the number on the display jump faster too But y the pumo here in SG so slow??
  11. Any bro can advise or gif diff gain for the hi-flow and straight thru for manual car (vios). option 1 ) change hi-flow cat option 2) straight thru whole mid-pipe to 2 inch. currently using 4-1 extractor. which is better?
  12. my air flow sensor was taken to dust dust... taken out my air filter before to wash and blow dry... all no problem... but 1st time spray some throttle body cleaner on the butterfly valve... but e-throttle so i could not manually open close and clean... anyways it was black when the cleaner dripped down... and because it was e-throttle, i turned on the engine to rev a bit while the air flow sensor was dismantled... s--t.... after fixed back the engine check light would not go off... arghhhhhhhhhhhhh.... called Tan Cheong... will cost $65 to reset... SIAO!!!!!!!!... there's no problem with the car... still will drive fine... air fuel ratio no change.... so dropped by SPC speedy car care and the fella there let me use his dignostic computer and did a check for me and reset... $20... i was like haiz... but i itchy fingers lah... go and on the engine while sensors not connected.... anyways he did a reset and i feel the fuel ratio is leaner... car feels smoother but like less responsive... hmmmmm..
  13. I was at East Coast Lagoon car park last nite when this guy drove against the flow of traffic near the entrance which is a one way street and forcing his way into a car park lot. I was quite hesitant to gv way to him cos i was nearer to the lot and hv the rights over it. I gestured to him saying that this is a one way street. That ass hole pointed to the lot as if that he owned that car park lot. Not wanting to pk up a quarrel, i gave way to him. Just curious to know how will other drivers react to this?
  14. Singapore Custom is even more congested when police were there to control traffic. going into jb is much more easier when there's no police controlling our traffic flow before singapore custom. Don't u think so?
  15. Just bought this brand new oil typed filter Model 33-2105 for my Mitsubishi Lancer Year 2005 model which has not been used. But thereafter, decided to change the entire stock air intake system to high performance type. This filter is suitable for Mitsubishi Lancer models (CS2, CS3 & CS5) from Year 2001 to 2006 but before the new Lancer EX design. Other vehicle owners who are interested may wish to check if it is suitable for their vehicles. Selling Price: S$140.00 and cash payment only. Interested buyer to either email or sms me. I will arrange with buyer to meet up at Simei MRT or Pasir Ris MRT Station.
  16. I'm caught in this situation of deciding whether to change my stock muffler to an aftermarket semi-flow. I drive usually in the low-end(believing its 2000 - 3200 rpm, or am i wrong?), changed to a 4-2-1(thermal wrapped) and hi-flow cat(original cat comes together w/ headers, no choice). I would like to seek you guys' advices in helping me choose if I should go semi-flow over the stock muffler. I ain't liking loudness so advise me if semi-flows are loud-hailers.
  17. Where to buy AEM dry flow air filter cleaning kit? I have KNN cleaning kit, but I think its different. SO need to buy this kit to wash my filter from the AEM CAI system. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AEM-DRY-FLO...sQ5fAccessories See this video. It works magic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBoS_4OKelk Meanwhile, bought this to replace temporary while cleaning the filter. HKS reloaded costed me $190 from my cousin direct import from japan (some 30-40 bucks cheaper than $230-250 in singapore). AEM CAI pipe is 63mm, HKS reloaded is 70mm. Bought a joint extension to adapt the HKS to my AEM CAI pipe.
  18. Hi guys, any idea why would a change from stock cat to high flow cat cause the engine check light to turn on when running in excess of 120Km/h? One way to overcome this is to install a resistor. I wanted to find out whether this is a common issue with high flow cat. Thanks. Regards,
  19. Source: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin.../359074/1/.html LTA says travel speeds, traffic flow improve with the 5 new ERP gantries By May Wong, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 08 July 2008 2202 hrs SINGAPORE: A day after new Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) charges were introduced in Singapore's city centre, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said travel speeds and traffic conditions have improved. It said the five new gantries along the Singapore River reduced traffic volume by some 30 per cent between 6pm and 8pm. Traffic speeds also went up by some six kilometres to about 26 kilometres per hour. In a statement, LTA said some have questioned if it was timely to raise the ERP rates, given the current economic conditions. In its response, LTA said that if congestion is left unchecked, it will create a negative impact on the Singapore economy. This will also affect the quality of the living environment. However, the newly-activated ERP gantries have become bad news for cab drivers. Azman Mohamed, a taxi driver, said: "With the new gantries, I will rather go to Suntec area because there's no gantry. There'll be lesser taxis entering those CBD area. So the objective of encouraging drivers to enter the CBD with an additional S$3 surcharge will no longer be attractive. So it's like a backfire to the improved system." Passengers said they noticed a slight drop in the number of taxis. One commuter said: "Taxis won't come in, so I guess people would either have to take a train out somewhere to get a taxi or something." Another passenger said: "Lesser people will take the cabs as passengers have to pay more with the new gantries. I guess I will go take the public transport, rather than taking a cab." Companies like SMRT are already helping their drivers through a Contract Hirers' Scheme. Evelyn Quek, Senior Manager, Customer Relations, SMRT Taxis, said: "We offer them a Contract Hirers' Scheme. This means they have a basic salary and we provide free diesel as well as to maintain the vehicle. "We've seen more than 90 per cent of take-up rates for our Contract Hirers' Scheme for the first six months of this year, compared to the same period of last year." SMRT spends over S$10 million every year on help packages for its cabbies driving its 3,000 strong fleet. The company will also be returning the 15 per cent cut in road tax to their drivers. That works out to about S$180 per cab annually. However, the latest ERP move is still of concern to cabbies. Cabbie Azman continued: "The new fare hikes that started last December is like having a wound on our leg. So with higher ERP prices and more gantries, the wound is now getting infected. "It's getting bad, business is bad. I don't think this will help us to earn a living as a taxi driver because commuters are shying away." Azman now drives around with an ERP rate table which he had printed from LTA's website. Using this information, he can tell passengers exactly where the ERP gantries are within the city and what the charges are. He also uses this information to avoid going into areas with ERP unnecessarily. - CNA/vm
  20. Hi all. Dunno if u encounter this. In this MSCP where the ramp for upgoing traffic is just beside ramp for down-going traffic, a motorcyclist actually tried to go up by using the down-going ramp, apparently trying to save time and petrol. I had a close shave with one before. Luckily, I reacted fast enuf, else biker sure kena. why do they have to risk their lives, just to save that few secs. I shudder to think what'd happen if they met with another slow-reacting driver. Bike vs car, sure lose! If touch wood, really accident occur, I wonder who will be at fault.
  21. Is it just me or does anyone think the traffic flow is smoother in the CTE? Northbound i mean... I know I know...its the damn ERP at work...but I was just thinking, is it also due to the school holidays?? The real test will be when holidays are over I guess...
  22. Is there a way to differentiate the 2? Someone told me that Jap aftermarket exos are mostly free-flow e.g. Tanabe, HKS. But Euro ones like Remus are semi-flow. Is it also true that semi-flow is more suitable for auto-transmission cars?
  23. http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel.../travel_site_1/ Kena fine at abv location. Parallel parking along Leong Huat building. Note the way out to Paya Lebar is one way.
