  1. Does anyone know the current season parking rates for the following Shenton Way buildings: 8 Shenton Way (Temasek Tower) MAS Building Capital Tower Thanks
  2. Hi, anyone knows a good place to park full day at Changi Business Park? Or a good place for season parking?
  3. My place here just recently changed to automated parking system... previously car owners will paste the season parking on their car... so with this new automated parking system how to tell if you are season parking holder? Thru the IU?
  4. Is this a Parking Idiot? Yes or No? Was the driver selfish in the way he/she parked his/her car, depriving others of a legitimate parking lot?
  5. Hi, I would like to find out more about the usage of the disabled/handicapped parking space/lot. Firstly, I do not have the handicapped sticker/label to stick on the car as I'm not a disabled or handicapped driver. But my grandparents both are having difficulties walking as one is wheel-chair bound while the other sometimes need a wheel-chair or the 4-legged walking support. There was this once when it happens that both are at my relative's place and I'm fetching them home one night. All the available lots were taken up, even the handicapped lots. Finally I waited and one driver went off from one of the handicapped lot and I went ahead to park in it before I called my grandparents to come down to where I parked. This was at the carpark where there is this area allocated for parking with only 2 lanes for incoming and outgoing cars with a continuous single white line in-between where I'm not supposed to park/wait on either side of the road. I don't have the sticker so i can't just park and leave the car there to go fetch my grandparents. As both requires some time to get ready to come down with some assistance so I can only wait for them. Then at this time, there is another car who drove by and both the male driver and his wife stared at me. I was wondering why are they staring at me so sternly? Then the man drove his car very very close to mine, almost scratching the front part of my car. All this while, he was still staring at me. Then his car screeched and stop in front of my car and still staring at me. I'm really wondering what's wrong with this man. Then an old man came down from the car with a walking stick, then I realized why he's been staring at me. I wanted to get off my car and ask if he needs the parking lot so since I'm waiting so let him go first, but his wife came down from the car and stared at me and then he quickly drove round and parked his car opposite mine. I'm really puzzled, then i checked if his car has the disabled/handicapped sticker, he didn't have it. So why is he staring at me all the time? Then when his wife left the old man walking halfway on the path towards the block and quickly went back to the spot where he dropped them, he drove his car quickly again so close to my car (almost scratching) and screeched and stopped in front. Then sped off. I really can't understand this action. I understand that such lots are definitely reserved for those who really need it. But waiting in such lots for handicapped people are also allowed right while they take time to come down? I'd checked with LTA and they said that so long the waiting time is not considerably long and there are no other cars with the disabled parking sticker/label waiting around (if have, i'll have to give way), otherwise it's alright to use it in such situations. But I would still like to check with the people here who are more experienced in their years of driving in terms of morally or driving ethics, can i use the lots for my situation? Would like to hear constructive feedback. If it's not alright for me to do so, how else can I wait for my grandparents when they go to my relative's place again in future? Thanks for taking time to read and reply.
  6. 1st july https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/parking-ura-hdb-car-park-higher-fines-illegal-11654998 Higher fines for parking offences from July: HDB, URA image: data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw== (Photo: Nisha Karyn) 24 Jun 2019 11:21AM (Updated: 24 Jun 2019 11:44AM) Share this content Bookmark SINGAPORE: Motorists who do not abide by parking rules will face higher fines from July, said the Housing & Development Board (HDB) and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). In a joint press release on Monday (Jun 24), HDB and URA said the move would ensure that “parking fines remain an effective deterrent”. “The fine revision will only affect errant motorists, and will not impact those who abide by parking rules,” they added. ADVERTISING Fines for parking offences were last reviewed in 1991. ILLEGAL PARKING OFFENCES For parking their vehicles illegally, motorists will soon face higher fines of S$35, S$70 and S$100 respectively for motorcycles, cars and heavy vehicles. Advertisement Currently, the fines are S$25, S$50 and S$80. “From 2016 to 2018, an average of about 260,800 notices were issued each year for illegal parking,” said HDB and URA. Such cases included instances where motorists parked their cars in motorcycle or heavy vehicle parking lots, as well as non-season ticket holders who had parked their vehicles at season parking lots. COUPON, DIGITAL PARKING OFFENCES Fines for coupon and digital parking offences will also be raised, said HDB and URA. Currently, drivers of cars and heavy vehicles who park without a valid parking coupon or do not activate a digital parking session would face a S$30 and S$40 fine respectively. From July, the fines will be increased to S$40 and S$50 respectively. There will be no change in the fine quantum for motorcyclists, who currently face a fine of S$8 for such offences. Those who exceed their paid parking sessions will also face stiffer penalties. The current fines for over-parking range from S$6 to $20 for cars, and S$12 to S$40 for heavy vehicles. This will be increased to a range of S$8 to S$24 for cars, and S$16 to S$48 for heavy vehicles. There will be similarly no change in the fine quantum for motorcyclists, who currently face a fine of S$4 for such offences. HDB and URA said that from 2016 to 2018, an average of about 573,000 notices were issued each year to motorists who either did not pay the parking charges or had paid an insufficient amount at coupon parking car parks. “For car parks where the Electronic Parking System (EPS) has not been implemented, motorists can either use parking coupons, the Parking.sg app or the OneService App to pay their parking charges," said the authorities in the press release. PAYMENT EVASION OFFENCES AT EPS CAR PARKS Those who evade payment of parking charges by tailgating other vehicles or bypassing car park gantries at EPS car parks will also face higher fines. Currently, motorcycles, cars and heavy vehicles face a fine of S$25, S$50 and S$80 respectively for such offences. “To further deter errant motorists, the fines will be increased to S$35, S$70 and S$100 for motorcycles, cars and heavy vehicles respectively.” About 4,400 notices have been issued by HDB and URA annually to motorists for evasion of parking charges. What did I do wrong when parking?

Quick background; Have 4 kids - 3rd & 4th were twins so have a largish twin pram. Drive an Audi Q7 and the boot door needs a big space for it to swing open upwards. And also cos of the pram, I tend to park with nose in (at least when I can and definitely at home where I have more control). This way there's space to open the boot and load that big ass pram. Stay in a condo where there's plenty of available parking. Most people have two cars and still there's no complaints on number of spaces available. So choices aplenty for everyone. I'm attaching a rough layout of the parking under my block. I've marked out where I park the car 99% of the time (sometimes someone gets there before me in which case, I just find another spot). As mentioned above, I park nose 1st and within the lines marked out. So this morning, I found a note stuck to my windscreen. Note say that I should have the "courtesy" to move forward when parking if I should come early to give the guy coming behind a chance to park I'm sorry, what the heck does he mean by having a courtesy to move forward. I get that he wants me to move to the bay in front of me so that way, he won't have to go around the lift bay and park his car. But how the heck does he know what my requirements are or why I do what I do? If he had the decency to leave his number, I would have explained. But this anonymous bulls**t note saying I'm not courteous cos I'm inconveniencing him by going around the lift block is uncalled for. Or am I wrong?

  11. I did not know HDB parking rules are so strict https://www.hdb.gov.sg/cs/infoweb/car-parks/parking-offences/parking-rules-and-penalties: Repairing/ allowing repairs to a motor vehicle in a parking place. ($80 fine) No one is allowed to jump start a car and change to a new car battery. Using a motor vehicle within a parking place for sale or promoting the sale of goods of any kind. ($80 fine) Property agents or taxis with advertisement stickers should beware. Cause/ allow vehicle to be washed in a parking place. ($80) Anyone who engages foreign workers to wash their car at night will have to stop doing that. But I still have not figured out why vans and lorries are allowed to park at loading/unloading bay as long as they want while seasoned parking car owners cannot

  24. Another bust up over parking space ... Singapore is really too stressful http://www.theonlinecitizen.com/2015/06/driver-allegedly-assaulted-over-dispute-of-parking-space/ An argument between two drivers over a parking space at a carpark ended up with a bruised face and a near-miss “accident” for one. The incident is said to had happened at carpark of Parkland Green, East Coast Park on 30 May (Saturday) around 6:10pm. Mr Yak was waiting for a parking lot after dropping off his wife and kids at the car park when a silver colored car came driving in against the flow of traffic. The car then parked in front of the space that Mr Yak was waiting for with his hazard light turned on. As a result, Mr Yak drove his car forward, in front of the silver colored car and wound down his car window to confront the driver. The driver in the silver colored car is said to be a middle-aged Caucasian, about 35 years old. And there were two kids seated at the back of the car. According to Mr Yak, the driver came down from his car and starting scolding him, “an idiot for being slow” resulting in an argument between the two. All of a sudden, the driver punched him through the car’s window and walked back to his car. The force of the punch was so great that it broke Mr Yak’s glasses and resulted in bleeding of his face. Despite being stunned from the punch, Mr Yak hurried down from his car and tried to take down the other car’s license plate number. “I came down from the car and tried to take down his car number. I stood in front of his car and he just stepped on the accelerator, trying to run me over while escaping.” said Mr Yak. He added, “Eyewitness told me his car plate was SGC9154K, but I am not 100%,” There was no video camera on his dashboard to record the incident. Mr Yak was subsequently treated at Changi Hospital for his injuries. Mr Yak recalled that there were some people around the area, as the car park was situated just in front of the Starbucks and St Marc cafe. He is, however, uncertain if there was any closed-circuit surveillance in the area as there was no electronic gantry at the carpark. He has since made a police report on his assault and beseech for eyewitness of the incident to come forward and give an account of the incident. People with information can write into TOC at theonlinecitizen@gmail.com to link up with Mr Yak. TOC has written to the police on the reported case and will update here when they have replied.
  25. The towkay is said to be a very young fellow Doc takes company boss go to court over parking dispute Yet another case of road rage. This one involves a doctor and a managing director of a company over a parking space. The incident happened on June 22 along the restaurants that line Upper Thomson Road. The medical professional, who wanted to be known only as Dr Goh, was reversing his Nissan Latio into a parking space when another car appeared from behind and kept inching forward. Dr Goh managed to park, but said the Lexus drove up beside them and started gesturing at him very aggressively before driving off. Shortly after Dr Goh exited the car, he claimed that the driver of the Lexus walked over to his car and ripped off its right side mirror, leaving it dangling. Dr Goh made a police report about the incident and has also filed a Magistrate's Complaint against the other driver as advised by the police. When contacted, the other driver declined to comment. Both drivers will appear before a judge at the Subordinate Courts next Wednesday.
