I may sound "lor soh" but don't play play with tyre.

Buy the best you can afford even sacrificing some comfort & noise.

You will never know when the extra performance can save you or other road users.

10cm shorter braking distance can make the different whether "langah" or not [idea] .

Safety first!!!

What does 185/65R14 mean?

I heard is :

185 - Tyre width

65 - Tyre thickness ( from Rim edge to tyre edge)

R14 - Rim sze /Diameter

Is that so?

Again, pls let me know if any cheap 1st hand lobang / tyre brand/ model for 185/65R14 ( safety/ grip 1st, comfort/ noise secondary).

Hi BTan00,

You can try some of the shops listed in the RIMS AND TYRES SHOPS thread in the RESOURCES folder.

To calculate whether the size you want is suitable for your ride, ie. it does not alter the way your speedometer measures speed, then it should be fine. You can check out the CALCULATING RIM/TYRES WHEN UPSIZING thread.

For more info on the what the numbers mean on the tyre wall, check out the WHEEL AND TYRE BIBLE.

Hope this helps.
