Worker Neutral Newbie November 21, 2004 Share November 21, 2004 If you are not the fussy type , try the neighbourhood tyre shops if they have any trade in tyres . Some of these are just days old ; I replaced mine on day 2 . Call up Autobacs , Motogard , Stamford Tyres etc, they may even have ex-Nissan Sunny tyres waiting to be off loaded . Good Luck Rgs

Vit4wd 1st Gear November 22, 2004 Share November 22, 2004 (edited) Never ever stinge on tyres as they are the only contact your car has with the road. Try the Michelins. They costs around S$80 each and offer all round comfort and grip. Edited November 22, 2004 by Vit4wd
Btan00 Neutral Newbie November 22, 2004 Author Share November 22, 2004 Hi, thanks to all. I prefer 1st hand tyres but are looking for those cheaper range ( around $60-$65?). any lobang? I like to change to 185/65R14 (cos it heard it give a better control/ grip during bend compare to 175/70R14, is that true?), how can I know/ check that my Rim can take 185/65/R14 tyres? Again, any cheap lobang in 1st hand 185/65R14 tyres? Pls help. Thanks in advance.
Owen_fan 2nd Gear November 22, 2004 Share November 22, 2004 I think for 185/65R14 tyre, it should be around the price range of $70 -$90 if i'm not wrong
Vit4wd 1st Gear November 22, 2004 Share November 22, 2004 Your rims should be able to take 185/65R15 tyres, which are easily available. Try Chip Soon at Tampines. Malaysian made tyres brand new for about S$60 each. But pls be careful when driving. The grip is so so only. 175/70R14 is very rare and only limited brands of tyres are available. Kklim Supercharged November 22, 2004 Share November 22, 2004 Try this tyre shop at Blk 721, Clementi West St 2. Was about to sell my old car couple years ago and one tyre mati. Bought one 185/65/14 one for just $10. Traded in by an upgrader, I think.

Btan00 Neutral Newbie November 22, 2004 Author Share November 22, 2004 Hi. thanks to all again. What does 185/65R14 mean? I heard is : 185 - Tyre width 65 - Tyre thickness ( from Rim edge to tyre edge) R14 - Rim sze /Diameter Is that so? Again, pls let me know if any cheap 1st hand lobang / tyre brand/ model for 185/65R14 ( safety/ grip 1st, comfort/ noise secondary). Thanks

Slonez Clutched November 23, 2004 Share November 23, 2004 A couple of mths back, I was looking for 195/55/R15 for my Renault. A shop at AMK Autopoint offer me Maxxis for $85/pc inc installation but I went for the Yoko AVS ES100 @ $95/pc. I guess it should be similar to Korean alternatives. Good luck!
