Are you a first timer buying a sport car?

If answer is YES, I suggest you rent a 86 and test drive for a month whether it suit your driving style and comfort on the road before commit.

The reason is that the trade in value of sport car is super low...the dealer will tell sport car is very hard to sell and somemore you are the third owner.

You may also pay around $200 to the dealer for STA/Vicom inspection report.

Good Luck!!

Will there be any problems driving such a low car over the long run?

Hi bro, that why I proposed you to rent a Toyota 86 for 1 month or 1 week to feel the ride...before commitment.

u will have bad knees if u drive such a low car over the long run! :p

but seriously,

(a) i assume you are below 30 yrs old.

if so, hv you check the insurance cost for a 2 door sports coupe? assuming u are on low or zero NCD.

(b) i assume this is the 1st time u are getting ur own car.

if so, hv u check the car thoroughly if certain areas have been welded back if it has been involved in accident?

© i assume u are getting this as ur 1st car and am unsure about car knowledge based on what i quote ur above statement

if so, stick to normal B&B cars

my apologies if u feel indignant after reading my post

Hey Folks,

I've recently purchased a 2nd hand Toyota Axio and at times - especially during a hot day the AC does not perform too well.

Recently i experienced that while i was driving and it started to get extremely hot, the AC started to blow not very cold air and after about 5 minutes its back to normal.

I went to a shop and they said the only way to fix it is to change the compressor which is about $600-700.

Does anyone know if there is a better / cheaper option?

You can ask for recon set...cheaper.

Alternately, change in JB.

I had similar issue on cx7...change a relay unit at $25, no more issue till I hand over the car...drive to mark cool look for 阿發...do a quick check.

I did't make appt...A fren suggested to go there for a opinion. I went early, around 9am. Looked for Ah-Huat. He did a quick check, suggested to change a relay unit. Then aircon margically become normal...no more waiting time for cold air.

By the way...my compressor is only 3 yrs old. Suggest you get a check/opinion before deciding what is best...
