Sure!!

I'll be there @ 9pm.

Hey, I saw your nick quite a few times on SeatCupra.Net and I think there is another guy SG_Toledo.

Anyway, catch up with you guys later this evening.

Ever consider merging the forum to this one, so have less ID and sites to access to.

This is quite comprehensive with all the local guys..

Just a thought..

Cheers!

Mel.

Hi,

I was planning to get a Skoda Oct 1.8T as well until I chanced on this site. Coupled with JTA instability, I am now "forced" to look for alternatives.

If convenient, maybe you can help me with the following:

* How much did you pay for your Toledo 1.6L (M)?

* How much did your dad pay for his Toledo 1.8L (A)?

I am seriously considering having a Toledo 1.8L (M) imported by BM if I like the car after test driving it.

Cheers!

Hi Dlow18!

Great to know that you are still open to options!

Drop me a mail -> [email protected] and I'll share with you more.

Or you could give me a ring @ 9387 2613. I'm off till these few days, so I don't mind meeting up with you.

Cheers!

The 1.8 with the new 20V engine will be much smoother at mid and high end whereas the 1.6 8V has plenty of torque low end but gets harsh on the high rpms.

So your best bet will probably be.......1.8M! Or the S40???? [laugh]

S40???? or S40T !!!

I still like the 'whoosssh' sound of a turbo.

But again that's a different story.

I think in terms of look, Toledo has a better score than S40.

Whereas resale value, don't ask me, cos I'm not planning to sell mine yet !! [:p]

Go and test drive and "follow" your heart.... may the "force" be with you............

LOL [;)]

Wah, all looking at the same range of cars! Last I checked with Barcelona, the Toledo 1.6M is guaranteed COE at $90,900, with the highest COE rebate I ever heard of, $28k! Leather seats extra $1.3k. Non guaranteed COE price is about $85k, COE bidding at $23k. It's such a lovely thing, so cushily put together, even the grab handles above the rear doors are soft-return!! The dash is actually right off the Audi A3. Know a friend who got it at the non-guaranteed price, he waited 4 months though. Black and tan leather, so cool.

Good to know stuff like these ... its really making me drool! I guess all these has just been made my decision harder ... Toledo??? Focus??? Anyway, its a good problem though. Better than having to possibly pull my hair out over JTA. Seems like my weekend will be very occupied! [sly]

I am sure I will ... besides, I will probably try out the Civic VTI-S and maybe Lancer 1.8 as well. That may help me justify Conti vs Jap.

Anyone wanna give their two cents worth on resale value for Toledo and Focus?

Mel4fun, believe the "S" thingy can easily be resolved with some $$$. Depends how you wanna look at it, can be quite cool with the "S" thingy on too. At least the driver infront will definitely know its a tailgating SEAT and if you can beat them ... its better to get out of the way! [;)]

Happy hunting,

You may wish to look for Charlie or Roland at Barcelona Motor.

They would probably sell you the idea of having an Auto for 1.8L, BUT if you are really keen on the manual, get them to work with their management. Remember, IT IS POSSIBLE.

I have some personal preference and they are quite helpful to bring in those special parts from SEAT for me although some of the item are not sold in SG.

Have fun..... but please note that performance is no where close to the 1.8 Turbo from Skoda....

Do drop in at http://forums.delphiforums.com/seatsg to check us out further (SEAT SG).

There will be a GTG @ 24th Feb too. Check out the details at the above sites.

Cheers [:)]

My hunch is the Focus will have better resale since it's a more common and popular badge. The previous Mondoes have pretty decent resale value, went to see a couple last Nov with my friend who was interested. Too bad he got Opel Astra instead [:/]

As for resale value, I believe the Ford to be much better than the Tody. Look around us - not many Todys on the road but Regent Motor seems to be doing quite well putting more Fords on the roads.

The most popular make commonly has a better resale value as buyers would feel more comfortable getting something a lot of other people has as the fear of lack of spare parts availabilty subsides.
