A few questions...

A) how old is your ES5?

B) Anything done to your ride? e.g. Sparkplug change, air intake, or still stock.

If A= <1 year And B=stock, time to send it to KM. Fix under warranty

IF A= >1 year, could be stock battery dying. Their maintenance free, from what I read isn't truly maintenance free [confused]

IF B= true, the sparkplug might be too cold, or the items such as air intake, piggy back ECU could have confused the onboard ECU into fault, thus refusing to start to protect the engine.

Other than that... not too sure liao [confused]

1. When you turned on the iginition, make sure you turn and hold for one to two seconds. Do not turn and release immediately. If you do so too often, you're asking for trouble.

2. The KM tech taught me this tip. So far so good. The problem no longer exist.

I suspect the starter solenoid is not receiving the voltage require to energise the coil which is unless properly activated the full volatge from the battery will not be valaible to the starter.

Very simple , either the hot wire from the ignition swtich to the starter solenoid is loose in connection or the solenoid is showing sign of aging.

Hmm...one of the bros frm shc forum just came back frm servicing and he reflected the problem to the SA. they did a check and the cause is the gear position sensor...but have to wait for a month for stock to arrive...

How could a gear position sensor contribute to such a problem? You mean the sensor failed to sense which gear the car is at? Sound serious. Can we have more info please. Thank you.
