Tea3 Neutral Newbie December 18, 2004 Share December 18, 2004 Dear all, If any of you are considering buying a new car & the SE promises to upgrade the rims, please do the following: 1) Do the standard checks upon receiving the car 2) Drive the car to the nearest tyre shop & have them remove the rims to check the inside of the rims to check for dents etc. Don't be fooled if you don't see any scratch marks on the outside of the rims & take for granted that the rims are alright because these marks can be painted. I sent my rims for 1st rotation 2 weeks ago & found that the left hand side front & back rims were dented on the inside. When I bought my car, the SE promised to upgrade the rims to "brand new" 16" rims. SE said it had to be bought from previous owner by own money but later, tongue slipped & revealed they were gotten for free. I didn't suspect anything wrong with the rims. I only noticed a constant vibrating sound every time I reached 60 kmh. Highlighted it during 2nd servicing & told was the left side windows vibrating. Also noticed car had tendency to sway to the left but was told it's singapore roads. After discovering the dents, I changed the rims & both vibrating & swaying has disappeared. Don't be so trusting. Better be safe than sorry. ↡ Advertisement
Slidingturtle Neutral Newbie December 18, 2004 Share December 18, 2004 wow, so bloody no integrity on the part of the SE... such stunts could have even caused an accident, which would have really sucked... good to hear at least that your problem is 'solved'... cheers

(notice got servicing but SE) - if YES, I do not understand "Previous Owner" (so these being Older Rims, no free meal in this world) - what made? - direct from appointed dealer? Condemn the SE lor but cannot post in MCF hor .
DarkLord 1st Gear December 18, 2004 Share December 18, 2004 Bro, what car did you bought?
Tea3 Neutral Newbie December 19, 2004 Author Share December 19, 2004 Yes, new car bought early this year. SE promised to upgrade 15" to 16" rims. Said money come out from own pocket, bought it for the sake of the customer (me). 16" rims belong to another car/owner who upgraded. Supposedly brand new but SE couldn't tell me the duration the previous owner had the 16" before "selling" it to SE. SE is appointed dealer. What make? See my avatar No worries, won't condemn publicly in forum. Am aware of Defamation Act.

Mojoe Neutral Newbie December 20, 2004 Share December 20, 2004 that's really really low... you should make noise, but they can always bite back and say you damaged it that's why when i took my car, i insisted that i follow to the tyres shop to change rather than let the SE change for you.. nothing happened to mine, but you can't be too safe over this.
